Rites of Battle chapter creator

By filliman, in Deathwatch

Looking at Deathwatch for our next game. All we are using is the corebook and Rites of Battle. We are all really interested in making our own chapters because "why not, we apparently have the option" but when we looked through it, made these custom chapters and tried to put them to a char sheet....nothing worked. Has anyone figured out how to carry that stuff over into something you/your char sheet can make sense of?

Write down all the results on paper!

I personally don't roll for results. I did it with my first custom chapter and just copied down all the stats, it was a bit easier for me since I already conceived said chapter (the Stone Lords) previously and had a good understanding of them.

Also if you come up with any really cool chapters you should try sharing them on here! Also I'd recommend getting First Founding for the rest of your chapters potential primogenitors.

Good luck.

For myself, as I love all world building exercises like this one :D , I cheat with the results to get something in line with my vision for the Chapter and add and remove things according to what my vision for the chapter is.

So essentially...look at the Chapter Creation rules as a guide to get started and not as the end-of-all solution.

I do specifically recall creating the Guardian Angels chapter. Successors of the Blood Angels and pure at that, so really Blood Angels in silver and gold armor. They felt it was the point of Astartes to defend mankind (whether it is or not is up for debate)

Reason for Founding: Crusade

Founding Date: 31st Millennium

Progenitor: Blood Angels

Purity: Pure

Demeanor: Purity Above All

Flaw: We Stand Alone

Char Mods: +5 Toughness, +5 Willpower

a number of Figures of Legend, one of which is a 10th company, 10th squad scout (so like, 14?) slew a daemon prince.

Homeworld: Medieval, Temperate

Relations with Homeworld: Stewardship

Organization: Divergent (Lots of Assault Squads, no Devastator squads, also double Codex-approced chapter size)

Doctrine: Drop Pods

Solo Mode: 86-100 on the Solo Mode Table

Squad Mode Attack: Oath of Vengeance

Squad Mode Defense: Only in Death

Special Vehicle: Modified Jump-packs (Gold wings with bright red promethium flames)

Chapter Beliefs: Esoteric Beliefs (Space Marines exist to defend mankind selflessly against the ravening alien hordes and those a**hole Chaos lovers)

Chapter Strength: Over-Strength (close to 2,000)

Chapter Friends: Imperial Guard

Chapter Enemies: Oficio Assinorum (they forced the chapter to put a venerated librarian into a Dreadnought before his "time")

Battl Cry: "In Defense of Mankind!"

Heraldry: A Silver Shield

Livery: Silver and Gold

Chapter Advance Table: Behold our Wrath

I mad ehtis, with little knowledge of space marines (which arguably made the process so much more fun) if anyone else wants to show off heir snowflakes, please do!
