Anyone else trying to figure out how to house Rule in some 1st edition material?

By Olifant, in Dark Heresy General Discussion

Honestly, I am quite pleased with second edition. Having been part of BETA I was terrified by its early versions and I know many would disagree (to each their own) but am so far content with the new iteration; I am disappointed by a few things dropped though.

The biggest one, which I am going to try and finagle in, is Daemon hosts. I am going to print out that section and just tuck it in the back of the second edition book. For those who are not familiar or dont care, it is arguably the worst and most fun thing that can happen to the party.

I know most GMs hated it, because often, it was a party killer or at least a two or three fate point burning event. But I love the 40k lore and the horrors that psykers could bring upon themselves and the party so I personally loved it. So when it actually happened to my group (late campaign) I knew it was trouble but ever since he transformed into an unbound daemon host and killed two of the three party members, the players Truly in and out of character are suspicious and detest pyskers and their players.

Any thoughts on reintroducing Daemon hosts? How tos? Or why nots are all welcome, or even just a story of what happened when your players or you the player became one. Please share.

Use DH1's perils table?

Use DH1's perils table?

I laughed. Simple but effective.

I suppose I should have added a couple other divergences, but I am only halfway through the book and so far the Daemon host removal is the only thing I know I will house rule in. Some of the other things I will need to playtest before I will commit.
