FFG are aware of the supply problems. In their Gencon "chat" they stated that they brought on more factories to fill demand.

Falcons are a popular ship. I have checked all supply lines I know of and the only thing you can do now is wait for the reprint, buy one at a huge markup, or borrow one from somebody that plays.

I really hope these new factories use new boats to send them as well ...

There is no shortage of x-wing stuff here in the states. There are no Y-wings or dice packs, but plenty of interceptors and falcons to be had! Dunno why there seems to be such a shortage elsewhere.

I have loads of interceptors if anyone wants them... Unboxed but as new condition. Not profiteering can have them for rrp plus postage.

What I meant to say is there are 3 game stores in my area and all of them have plenty of falcons and whatnot. However, the only thing that is scarce is y-wings for some reason. Whenever they get a new batch, they seem to fly off the shelves faster than any other ship.

They have Falcons at both Wizards Tower and les Freres de Batailles here in Ottawa...

you say that... but neither website has them listed. in fact wizards tower specifically says it's out of stock.

They may have underestimated demand.

Even though demand may be high for the moment it cannot be certain. Right now with miniatures FFG is making sure they don't waste any profit on inventory expenses. I'm no insider but it is reasonable they only manufacture what they can be sure they can send out the door.

Inventory management is expensive and it doesn't necessarily turn up a profit. Does anyone remember GW's bit ordering service where you could order a single plastic spure from a set or a single pewter arm from a model? It ended up being discontinued because it was not making a profit. All those individuals take a lot of warehouse space that must be leased and on an order some one has to be paid to go look for it pick it up (along with the other pieces ordered) then they pack it and ship it. It was expensive and it didn't make enough of a profit to justify continuing the program.

We are still in a bust economy not a boom economy. In boom you can justify having warehouses full of stock in order to meet the consistent high demand. However when demand has shrunk or is inconsistent all that unsold stock eats up profit margins with inventory maintenance expenses.

I keep picturing some little kid tearing open a Millenium Falcon box that mom bought as a toy with all the cards strewn about with the rare ones being chewed up by the dog. The dish being broken off because sis accidentally stepped on it and the tokens being used as "space money".

Just the thought of this while waiting 3 months so far for my 2nd Falcon makes me cry a little on the inside...

Is this thread about the millennium falcon? They sell on amazon for $30 us. Do other countries see different sellers when they sign on amazon?

In the UK we've just had a restock of core sets and wave 1 in most stores.

some stuff has never been hard to find (imp aces, shuttles, e wings and defenders).

Y wings were a little scarce but not now.

I've not noticed a falcon shortage either.

If it wasnt for the fact that uk price difference and shipping would make it probably cheaper to buy from inflated cost local sources i'd offer to help.
