REPAINTS, CONVERSIONS & SCRATCH BUILD THREAD
Great stuff Bulldog..
Hey look! A stealth X-Wing and a bump!
Painting Source, Brian Wood's Star Wars comic book series (which is excellent if you're looking for a good read):
Looks great! What color did you use? just the normal Citadel black?
Decided to do my own decloaking Phantom. I like the cockpit more than its back so I chose decloaking (leaving the front intact)
And here's my attempt at a black TIE Advanced (still new at this, and I'm not entirely happy with how the grey highlights came out)
Howdo gang
Here's my contribution:
A few more...
And a few more...
And if you missed it first time round, you may dig this:

I threw this together after browsing through my spare parts bin. Add some Green stuff panels and a cloned TIE cockpit and voila!
I call it a TIE Cutter. I figure it should make a good Decimator stand-in.
I realize that first one was a bit fuzzy, so here's a better look at the cockpit...
Better photos once it's finished, I swear.
Edited by BenderIsGreatBenderIsGreat: Looks a bit like a pimped out Speeder bike from episode 6. Also, is that a small Snowspeeder on the 'wing'?

Right on both counts. I got that speeder bike when I was a kid, and the snow speeders are from an equally ancient AT-AT kit.

After painted, it will look amazing!
Okay, here's my first attempt at painting I loved it so much, I'll probably try it again, and hopefully I'll get better with every project.
Without further ado, Pre Vizsla's Firespray-31 Patrol craft

A few more of my re-paints
Omg... -drool- all these *amazing* custom paint jobs just make my fingers itchy.
The blue firespray is particularly nice.
Good stuff all though!
A pair of A-Wings that I call Ghost and Shadow:
nice A'ss.......
just bumping this back onto page 1.
we still need a repaint/custom sub-forum....
... nowish would be great. =)
Below is an step by step photo guide so far of my YT-1300 conversion
There may be some time between photos as this is the first time I am using plasticard or carry out any significant alteration to a miniature. The above photo shows about 4hours of progress which should probably have taken me a lot less time
Modification Part 2
I am happy with progress so far
Modification Part 3
Slow but steady progress
Modification Part 4
A little modelling putty to infill the gaps

Very cool!
Very nice recreation of the detail on the side strip of the new section (where the old cockpit walkway would be).
Is that taken from somewhere else, press moulded or scratchbuilt?
I Was really unhappy with one of the paint jobs that one of the A-wings came with, It looks like a cheep quarter toy so I did a little weathering and some atmosphere burns then fished it off with a new canopy and lasers, Its my first repaint and I have done this since I was a kid
and used basic model paints and thinner.

Good job, looks greatly improved to me.
