Stupid List of the Day

By PenguinBonaparte, in X-Wing

If you're anything like me you have ideas. Terrible, terrible ideas. But they seem good because you thought of them and somehow, some way, you know they just might be so stupid they're genius. So let's have some fun and post our dumb lists. Today yielded this:

Avengeance!

Howlrunner + Swarm Tactics (20)

4x Avenger Squadron

Just fly like a swarm but don't worry about always getting a shot with Howlrunner. PS3 slightly mitigates all the predators out there. Even more fragile than a normal swarm, but can it do enough damage to potentially even things out?

Lone Academy Pilot, OMG it so OP! :o

Well for annoying lists you heard of the Falcon Fortress? Well how about the Deci-fortress. 2 Decimators with gunner facing each other so that their 1 straight will never clear and they will never have to move (until one of them get destroyed).

Howlrunner and four OGP's

Lambda fortress

First Lambda has advanced sensors. Does stop move until focus fired to death.

Yorr in behind doing green ones clearing the stress off the front Lambda.

Add in more Lambdas for the good ol conga line :-P

Howlrunner and four OGP's

**** I math bad

Backstabber instead of Howlrunner

Now that's a bingo

Dumb lists of the day?

How about this one? Idk how good it'll be...

Colonel Vessery (35)
Predator (3)
Rexler Brath (37)
Veteran Instincts (1)
Heavy Laser Cannon (7)
"Night Beast" (15)
Targeting Computer (2)
Total: 100
Night Beast greens in first engagement, takes a TL gets a F. Let Rexler and Vessery do damage. Continue to take TLs and be a nuisance.
Killing Night Beast will help you fight Vessery, but that just makes the list have 3 good targets.

Lambda fortress

First Lambda has advanced sensors. Does stop move until focus fired to death.

Yorr in behind doing green ones clearing the stress off the front Lambda.

I played against this once with a smuggler and 3 b-wings. The smuggler flanked and the b-wings moved just into range 3 of the first lambda and opened fire, creeping up with 1 straights every turn. Poor guy was so disappointed in his master plan

Rebel Operative with Luke and Moldy Crow title Targeting Computer but no turret. If I miss with the first 1 dice attack then I get to shoot again and I can change focus to hits yay. ^_^

Lt. Blount with Cluster Misses and Munition fail-safe also put in a Targeting Computer. There is no way I can miss now.

Y-wings and B-wings with Stealth Device, You will fear all these massive number of hit points when I have 2 agility.

Phantom with Vader upgrade. I call it the doom phantom. :o

Darth Vader with Targeting Computer (who says no one loves the Tie Advanced? Does this mean I can have 2 Target Locks? :P)

Proton Rockets on YT-1300!!! OMG that will be so OP

and I can't think of any other combos which just do not make sense

Engine upgrade on A-WIngs and Interceptors!

One thing we sometimes tried was to add a list of the rebel or empire ships to random.org and then we had to make a list of the ships that randomly were the first ones. There were some repeated since we own several multiple times.

You did the first one then the second one.... like that untill you reached the max points for your squad.

Thats a nice way of having to make new lists and try different ships and combinations.

That's definitely the sort of list I want to try just to get those Defenders out there! I was sort of thinking about this as things that *just might* work. Like I initially thought EnglishPete's amazing 4 Interceptors swarmed to PS9 flying in a block list was absolutely ridiculous, but I used it a few times to completely obliterate opponents. It's amazingly fun! Haven't tried it recently or in a competitive setting, but over quite a number of games my only loss was to a combination of Falcon and ion turrets. Things that have obvious drawbacks, but some possible trick too. Tomorrow I'm definitely giving this a try:

Imperial Blockade 2.0:

Oicunn (42) + Dauntless (2) + Isard (4) + Jerjerrod (2)

2x OGP (21) + FCS (2) + APL (2)
