Looking for help on a SuperHan list

By Jobu, in X-Wing

So I have a hankering to fly SuperHan with EU and I am really struggling with what to do with him. Please help.

Key requirements is Han and EU. I really want PS 11, but can be talked out of it.

This is what I have so far:

Han Moves Last:

Han Solo 46

3PO 3

EU 4

VI 1

MF 1

Rookie X 21

Rookie X 21

Right now its at 97 points and I have an open crew slot on Han.

I am really anxious about Han without some type of offensive boost especially with most of his actions being taken by evade and boost. Should I jettison VI for PTL? I really want to be hyper mobile and take advantage of 1 turns and 3 banks so I am hesitant to take a stress generator. I don't think I have run Han without Chewie crew and that makes me nervous as well. Any other ideas?

I really think I need a pair of 3 attack ships in escort and the cheapest are Rookie X-Wings. Am I going down the wrong path here? With super maneuverable Han getting out of arcs, should I go with A-Wings? Should I go with 3 Z-95s with 3 or 6 points left over compared to the rookies??

Gunner is the typical answer, and a solid one.

Threepio is approximately equivalent to Chewie, so don't worry overmuch on that score.

One of those latter, I think. You'd like to have two escort fighters with 3 Attack, but you can't afford it without compromising elsewhere in your build--meaning you're pulling back from Han's defense. Unfortunately it's also the typical answer, but I'd go with three Headhunters (or a Refit A-wing and a pair of Headhunters) and invest the saved points in a Gunner or Luke.

Yeah, to agree with this, I would swap out the 2 Rookies (42 points) for something more cost effective. That could be:

  • 3 Z-95's (36 - 39)
  • 3 Refit A-wings (45)
  • 2 Blue Squadron Pilots (44)

This Han build really wants Luke to threaten more damage on the 2nd roll, which leaves you with only 38 points remaining.

PS11 is nice, but basically is only needed to hard-counter PS9 Whisper. It leaves you more vulnerable to more "typical" Fat Falcon or Swarm builds. So if you can stomach dropping to PS9, then you can swap out VI for Predator or PtL to maximize your damage output / mobility.

100 points

Han + Predator + Millennium Falcon + Luke + C-3P0 + Engine Upgrade (64)

3x Bandit Squadron Pilot (36)

With Predator and Luke, you should still punch through Whisper's defenses OK. It's a more generally well-rounded approach, with Predator being less risky than PtL. It's also been a very popular Fat Han build, and one that I have been meaning to try since C-3P0 and wave 4 were announced.
