I don't really see how this is really worthy of bringing the mods in to, as opposed to some of the other threads I have viewed on here. If you find it annoying then simply don't click on the thread. Bullying some guy that is enthusiastic about part of the lore really doesn't seem worth anyone's time. I have no idea what the OP's intentions are for these threads, but they aren't doing any harm and he does label them as off topic. So my response is: "meh."

We politely asked him to stop, I would hardly qualify that as bullying. And, since he agreed, I feel we all accounted ourselves fairly well as adults.

Just because it doesn't bother you doesn't mean it doesn't bother other people. I suppose that wouldn't necessarily be bad in and of itself, if it didn't still qualify as spam. Spam is certainly worthy of moderator attention, if it impedes the flow of meaningful threads (and their respective conversations) on the main forum page.

Now, I'm certainly not against off topic posts, but one a day for twelve days is a bit much.

My question wasn't one of whether it bothers people or not, it was about why care? Is it really harming you to skip reading over a thread that you obviously have no interest in contributing to or reading? I mean I do that for probably 70-90% of the threads here. It doesn't seem that difficult to me.
