Struggling with Escalation Building

By Bohrdumb, in X-Wing

A few basic goals of my list.

Survivability

Damage

Maneuverability

Not necessarily in that order.

The final 150 pt list is going to look something like:

ORS + EU + Gunner

Blue + FCS x 4

Etahn or Corran

My biggest issue is obviously the order in which to bring these things out.

I was thinking:

ORS + EU + Gunner

Blue

(58 points)

Etahn

(90 points)

Blue + FCS

FCS on other Blue

(116 points)

Blue + FCS

(140 points)

I've got some room for more upgrades, but I don't know if I've got room for Corran. Do you feel like it's a good progression? Do you think the list stays competitive throughout?

Thoughts? Suggestions?

We ran an Escalation Tournament over the weekend and ZI took first place. Here is what I ran

Round 1:

Corran Horn + R2-D2 + Fire-Control System + Veteran Instincts + Engine Upgrade (46)

Corran is a monster to deal with and you bank 14 points for later use.

Round 2:

Corran Horn + R2-D2 + Fire-Control System + Veteran Instincts + Engine Upgrade (46)
Etahn A’baht + R5-P9 + Push the Limit + Advanced Sensors (41)

Now at 87 points you have 2 ships that can toss up a decent defense and both are making you work harder to land enough hits to kill one.

Round 3:

Corran Horn + R2-D2 + Fire-Control System + Veteran Instincts + Engine Upgrade (46)
Etahn A’baht + R5-P9 + Push the Limit + Advanced Sensors (41)
Wedge Antilles + Engine Upgrade (33)

In comes wedge to add some muscle and a hard choice for your opponent. What to go after first a slippery wedge or either E-Wing that can just recover shields.

Round 4:

Corran Horn + R2-D2 + Fire-Control System + Veteran Instincts + Engine Upgrade (46)
Etahn A’baht + R5-P9 + Push the Limit + Advanced Sensors (41)
Wedge Antilles + Engine Upgrade (33)
Wes Janson + Veteran Instincts (30)

Wes caps everything off. So here in the final round you'll have 2 PS10 ships and a dodgy Wedge while Etahn makes everyone hit just that much harder.
