John Masanori: Is Octgn playing it right?

The first time you make a successful run each turn, draw 1 card.

The first time you make an unsuccessful run each turn, take 1 tag.

This feels like a noob question, but I don't have a deep pool of people around to ask. My reading of this card is that it will trigger on the first unsuccessful and successful run each turn, regardless of what order they happen in. However, I recently was using this on Octgn, and the behavior was order dependent.

Turn A:

Successful run first -> John draws me a card; animation 'Taps' the card

Unsuccessful run second -> nothing happens

Turn B:

Unsuccessful run first -> John gives me a tag; animation puts a counter on him

Successful run second -> John draws me a card; animation 'Taps' the card.

Is this how it should be?

Unless I've been using it wrong the whole time both effects should trigger independently. I'm guessing tapping something in Octgn (at least in Netrunner) turns the card "off" for the turn, which probably works just fine for everything else.

That's an issue with OCTGN (one I'd not noticed, and will have to watch for). Both effects are separate, you should still get the tag even if John has triggered to draw a card this turn.

Thanks for the confirmation
