Easter Eggs or just coincidence?

By WookieeRoar, in Star Wars: The Card Game

So I think I recently stumbled on another Easter Egg in the design/naming of SW LCG cards.

I guess most people know the most obvious Easter Egg:

The mirror art between Han Solo and Lando Calrissian.

Then somebody pointed out in one of the preview threads (the one for "Between the Shadows" IIRC) That the different Lightsaber Form Enhancements are following the Lightsaber Forms from the Dark Forces games.

And when looking at the latest Sith Objective I noticed this progression in the Condition enhancements:

Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to Suffering.

So that might give us a clue for the next Sith Condition enhancement.

Would anybody have examples of other Easter Eggs like this?

The lightsaber forms from the dark forces games were actually different. In those games, namely, Jedi outcast and academy, there was a light, medium and hard style. These were later put into stories with Luke and Kyle using those forms to teach students at the academy until they spent time to rediscover the forgotten saber styles. The ones we see in the card game are some of the 7 lightsaber styles that the old Jedi Order practiced. 1. Shii-Cho 2. Makashi 3. Soresu 4. Ataru 5. Shien (the art for this has been spoiled. Its in one of the force packs from the next cycle.) Both 6. Niman and 7. Juyo/Vaapad have yet to be released or spoiled.

How about this one? FFG likes EU characters and settings. Some of the Jedi Knight/Dark Forces characters have been released, namely: Kyle Katarn, Jan Ors, General Mohc, Sariss, Jerec, heck even the Moldy Crow. There is an event with Rahn on it, though it's not a unit. I want to see the remaining 5 of Jerec's 7 Dark Jedi, 8T-88, Desann, Tavion Axmis.

As far as different examples of things being Easter eggs or nods to the source material, Kyle Katarn is a boss in this card game, just like he is in the videogames.

The new Luke from Between the Shadows has neat effects between him and his lightsaber, thematically similar to his use of it in Return of the Jedi.

Captain Needa comes in an objective set with an event that requires you to sacrifice an Imperial Navy Officer unit. That event is appropriately named Apology Accepted, based on the line Vader says right after force choking him to death in Empire.

Card abilities are inspired by the events of the movies, novels, and games, that's the whole point.

I'm not even going to try to list them all off, but pick any two or three cards that depict events shown in the same scene, and that story shows up in the names and effects of the cards.

Han Solo, Han's Heavy Blaster Pistol, Greedo

Heroic Sacrifice, X-Wing Escort or Green Squadron A-Wing

Tantive IV, Leia Organa, You're My Only Hope, Rescue Mission

Darth Vader, Force Choke.

Grand Moff Tarkin, Superlaser Engineer, Superlaser Blast, Alderaan's Promise, Bail Organa.

Heroic Sacrifice, X-Wing Escort or Green Squadron A-Wing.

This one has always bugged me, since it can't get rid of Executor (assuming it is damaged) unless the X-Wing Escort is sacrificed. In the film it's an A-Wing than finishes off the Executor. Cards that can't do what is shown in their artwork annoy the crap out of me. :P

There's a Gungan in the Cloud City Casino.
