I saw a few here were running it Sunday.
Rebellion Day [GMS]
Question, how do these kits work?
I was supposed to GM the kit. The store told me they tired but couldn't get one. Then the store ended up getting one. Now I"m not free to GM on the 13th. How strict is Fantasy Flight about enforcing the date of the 13th? I could do the event 2 weeks later, so right now the store owner is looking into it. If not I'm also working on finding a back up GM.
FFG will send in a squad of Stormtroopers in full riot gear to quell your insurrectionist, wrong-day scheduled game.

I don't anything about it from FFG's perspective, but here in Austin, Dragon's Lair received a kit and I volunteered to GM it. The shop has WizKids event happening on Saturday, Sept 13 so I am GMing Rebellion Day on on Sunday, Sept 14.
You might see if your shop is open to that.

Those Stormtroopers will put you down for accessory. You know how they roll.

Awesome, I'm totally going to advocate doing it on the wrong day now just to see some real stormtroopers!
Is there any way to get a copy of the scenario -- I'm a completionist :\
In the past they released "Under a Black Sun" as a PDF. It began life as a Free RPG Day module. Something similar may happen here, only time will tell.
If anyone here happens to be in the New England area, I'll be running the Rebellion Day event at Granite State comic con this Saturday.
(I just found out they got the kit, and they're not even up on FFG's "where it's happening" list yet)
Sign-ups will be at the 501st New England Garrison / Alderaan Base booth in the convention hall. Head on over and reserve your slot for the afternoon game!
Edited by DarthGMI'll miss Rebellion Day, but I'm excited to hear how the story is!
Just found out the LGS I was planning to run it has the Kit. But it is not listed on the FFG page
River City Hobbies

I will be running it at Noon on Saturday, the correct day.
The other Game store down on campus "Apex games" (which is listed on the FFG page) is running it on October 4th. Going to be plenty of time for the stormtroopers to raid that place

I'm running the game, feel free to hit me up.
Well, the Fantasy Shop still hasn't gotten their kit. Not sure what the issue was (they're listed on the FFG website as a participating retailer) but I'll be running the Age of Rebellion Beginner Game instead.
My store is listed: Pair-a-Dice in Vista, CA.
I'm amazed there's so few games being run in California in general, and equally amazed that most of them are near me here in the Bay Area. Normally, LA is where the action is, but they just have one store in Fullerton (and that's in Orange County, not LA).
Sarge, if you've just arrived, Martinez is maybe an hour and 15 minutes at the most from you, depending on where in Sacto you live. They don't have a working calendar and I've never heard of them before (which is odd; Martinez is fairly local to me), so I'm going to call them up tomorrow and see when the game is scheduled. If they seem flaky, then it's off to Gator Games (which is in San Mateo, not Hayward).
Well, assuming the wife agrees
I tried to get my local shop to run it here in San Luis Obispo, CA...but the owner wouldn't agree to order the kit (I still have no idea if FFG charged anything for it) because he didn't think he'd get enough interested people to participate. I offered to run it.
Failing there, I sorta wanted to see if I could get ahold of the kit materials...so I contacted Reece Robins (an old wargaming buddy from here in SLO) at Frontline Gaming. He runs the small game store in Martinez, but primarily sells miniatures (Games Workshop 40k and the like) online at a discount...I just pre-ordered Space Hulk from them today, actually. Frankie, one of the other guys that runs the business said he would put in a request for the Age of Rebellion Day kit. I followed up a few times, and it turns out he did put in the request...as their store showed up on the list of participating stores here on FFGs site. I asked earlier in the week if they ever got the kit in the mail and he said no. I asked again this afternoon and he said they still never got anything...
Their shop isn't really known for RPGs (that I know of). So...I wouldn't count on there being a game held there this weekend, seeing as how they never got the kit...actually, it's likely they don't have any Star Wars RPG stuff there at the store at all. I'd love to be proven wrong though, as I offered to pay them whatever FFG charged them for the kit to get the materials when the event was done.
My store is listed: Pair-a-Dice in Vista, CA.
I used to live in Vista, back in 1998-2000...had an apartment there during the last year and a half of my enlistment in the Marines. Nice area. Moved back up North after I got out. Don't remember that store while I was there. There was a store in Carlsbad that I used to buy my 40k minis at. Actually won a miniature painting competition there. Fun times.
I asked Athena Games to pick up the kit and they did just that. I've even offered to pay for the kit. However, by a stroke of bad luck, I fell ill on the Saturday and couldn't do it ![]()
I do intend to run the adventure eventually though, may make our own Rebellion Day somewhere down the line, maybe nearer Christmas given the winter-like environment of Tivar II.
Without spoiling anything, the game was a blast. Sterling Hershey did a good job on this one.
Our kit never arrived, despite the store being on FFG's list of participating retailers. I ran the Age of Rebellion Beginner Game instead, and we had a really good time, but at least one player was disappointed that we weren't able to provide the advertised module.

That store in Carlsbad no longer exists. I used to play DnD there until it closed somewhere in 2003 or thereabouts.
I am the GM at SCI-FI City in Orlando Florida.
10AM to 6PM
Events are Scheduled through the stores Meetup Group.
I miss SciFi City. That place was my training ground for CCGs.

Yeah, I tried calling them, but got their machine. I asked if they were running it on their Facebook page, and they said that they weren't. They didn't tell the whole story, though, so thanks for that ![]()
I ended up going to Gator Games in San Mateo. It was a friendly game, but I could tell they skipped a bunch. It took about 2 1/2 hours only.
Anyone know where to get one of these for collection-purposes? I am willing to pay top-price...
