Custom card: How much should a cloaking device be?

By Bakura83, in X-Wing

I want to make a card for large and huge ships that gives them a cloaking device. Is 10 points reasonable? Or should it be more/less?

Also, are the custom cards difficult to make? Is there a template somewhere?

Well if you are going cannon some Imperial Star Destroyers were able to have a cloaking device however it also had the drawback of not being able to see anything with it engaged. So here you go.

Upgrade Cloaking Generator

Capital Ships (Huge) only Energy 5.

Action: If this is your first action Spend 5 energy to give each section 2 reinforce tokens. This ship may not make any action or attacks this turn.

{cargo} point cost [10]

Add Joruus C'baoth (crew) to a friendly ship at Range 1 so that you can fire while cloaked. ;)

How would you handle the decloaking? A decloaking Firespray or Dash Rendar is frightening enough, but a decloaking Tantive?

Well, my initial thought was to keep the +2 Evasive bonus, but you can't target other ships with abilities, and you use the 1 maneuvers instead of the 2.

Giving a huge ship a slip of 1 to the left or right is huge, considering that they can destroy enemies by running into them.

It is also huge for large ships, which is why the Barrel Roll for large ships handles differently than for small bases.

Hmz, how to fix this, because you do need to keep an element of uncertainty of position.

A cloaking device on Oicunn would be hilarious.

Maybe just allow the decloaking ship to move exaclty 1 immediately left or right, no swing-move.
