Back in the saddle.

By Cubanboy, in X-Wing

I must say I am a bit sad that I have not played a game of x-wing for a couple of weeks. Wow there is even dust on my case. I think this would be the perfect weekend to break out a phantom and fly it to victory.

Seeing I have not been on the forum much give me some thoughts what has and has not worked with it. I have not flown one yet, I know I am a terrible gamer but I did beat Dark Souls a couple nights back so all is not lost.

Dark Souls <3

I know the feels. I haven't gotten to play much either. Sucks.

Dark Souls 1 or 2? The second one wasn't nearly as great.

dark souls prepare to die for pc

Quite good. It amazes me that it took 50 hours to beat and for speed runners it's only 1:07:00

I find this to be a fair review of the 2 dark souls.

Heh, I played it a fair amount. I'd say I know what it got right and wrong without watching another half hour of it.

What was really interesting was GameSpot gave it a really glowing review, then several weeks later they published an opinion piece - complete with another review score, this one being much lower than the first. When I read it, it was full of all the exact same complaints I saw several times over on the GameFaqs forums from people completely unfamiliar with the franchise. It was basically all the same crying that complete noobs do before they come to appreciate the series, which I thought was very unprofessional of GameSpot. But then it's GameSpot we're talking about, and they're not exactly a bastion of respectability in the first place.

Unfortunately I have not even heard of Dark Souls, so I have nothing to add on that subject.

I don't have much hands on experience with the generics, but I've heard four Sigmas is fun to fly. For the most part you want to stick the Stygium mod on the generics and Adv Cloak on Echo and Whisper.

Echo and Whisper both benefit from VI, but I've heard some have success with the new Lone Wolf card if you were so lucky to get your hands on a YT-2400 from GenCon or happen to play Vassal. When I was first learning how to fly it, I personally liked Recon Spec due to the insurance it grants, it really helps when defending since they're so fragile if you happen to get into their arc.

Whisper is easier to start with since there's only the left/right/straight decloak.

Echo has the ability to melt your brain. You can decloak leftback/leftforward;rightback/rightforward;straightleft/straightright. Don't forget you have the option to throw a barrel roll in there.

If you play Echo with PTL, AdvSensors and boost...well...Nostradamus couldn't predict your movements. That may be partly due to the fact that your brain will have liquified and already started to seep out of your nose trying to figure out where all you could end up.

For a more visual understanding of this, someone on here a while ago created Echolocation, and it's about the coolest thing ever. Be warned though, turning on Echo with PTL, barrel roll and boost can seriously work your computer's processor.

It's only one of the best games ever made. Imagine a cross between Zelda and Castlevania, with some really old school NES style difficulty mixed in for your express frustration (and gratification).

Oh that sounds awesome. One of these days I'll attempt to play catch up.

I always told myself I would hand my son an NES controller so he can learn the values of classic gaming before opening the world of 'hold your hand' gaming that goes on these days.

Can't wait for blood Bourne is all I can say

If you don't know what that is Google bloodbourne ps4

If you don't have a 360/ps3 or a gaming PC I would tell you it's a game worth buying a system off ebay for. Such a hard game though if you die about 100 times before you get out of the training area you will be on pair for the course.

I brought a ps4 this generation and after finding out about dark souls and following in love with the game I enjoyed hearing about bloodborne. I wonder if it will change like demon souls did to dark souls, or if the curse will be different now. Must excited for next year.

I love that the thread has been hijacked and... meh.

And despite the fact my gaming habits suffered, I'd do it all over again if I could.

Why not just order a clone? Your only stuck with them nine years then you get to kick them out.

So basically at this point, the kid is on the boat? ;)

Yea looking forward to meeting my son. Yes based on FFG time frames he gets off the boat this week, 10 days for processing to ship to warehouse then 10 to online store then 2 days to process order and 3 days to my house. ;-p

I hear the DLC for 2 is worth the cost it fixes a lot of the problems that 2 has.
