The torpedo that comes with Most Wanted (http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_news.asp?eidn=4998), does that look like a YWing upgrade that replaces the torp slot with a bomb slot?
The Most Wanted torpedo
Yes. I would have preferred a crew slot over bomb, but that's what it is.

Or a title upgrade sort of like Rebel aces for B-wing which gives it both crew and bomb. But I guess they wanted to limit the number of stuff you could put on it.
I've always assumed the guy manning the turret represented the second crew. The guy piloting can't aim the turret, after all.
Crew will never happen for the Ywing because Recon Spec + R5-P9 and Dutch + Weapons Engineer would be pretty broken.

This is true, but it would still fit (what used to be) canon. I, personally wouldn't mind but that might be 'cause I already have two wishbones, and my one opponent has none. :-)

Unless FFG makes a different type of astromech slot....
I could see a crew slot for Y-Wings that's Scum only.
or a crew slot that causes you to lose your astromech slot
Bomb tosser ![]()
There are TWO cards that are Y-wing only, one is a title and one is the Bomb Something Upgrade that occupies a torpedo slot. So, we COULD get both bombs and crewmembers.
Seems unlikely to give a bomb slot, as there aren't any bomb tokens shown in the preview.
The Y-Wing title is a much longer bit of text than the Bomb-whatever card, so I also don't think the title is going to merely add an icon to the upgrade bar.
Dutch with weapons engineer sounds really sick thematically. That little ugnaught should put on a space suit and sit in the Astro slot shaking his fist at enemies.

Most Wanted, unlike any other set released so far, only functions if you have other models; the Firespray and HWK pieces require them.
You may still be right, but this set is different from the usual. Additionally, other recent sets (like the Defender and it's evade) have shown different tokens in previews than in the actual release.
I agree that it probably isn't a bomb slot. A) no bomb cards or tokens, and B) I think that in an effort to keep the factions differentiated, only the Empire will have access to bombs. I think the title "Bomb____" text is just throwing us off at this point.
Edit: Perhaps it says "Bomblettes" or some such and is functionally a bomb yet still has the torp icon?
Edited by Futant420Well, it's obviously not possible that they would (gasp) give us an upgrade that allows bombs but not give us a bomb.
They have broken precedents with independent releases as well as wave sizes. At this point anything is conjecture, but I wouldn't be surprised if they continue to change up the norms they have established. Every faction will likely soon have access to every attack type. The game's strategy seems to be developing towards asymmetrical list archetypes over faction asymmetry. Seems that way to me, anyway. They way, your thematic preference is relevant in the faction you play and you can build a list that fits your style in every faction.
Biggest current exceptions are imperial exclusivity to cloaking and bombs, but we know that other Scum ships are getting bombs. The rebels will likely follow suit. I fully expect both to change with future releases. But again, just speculation.

I forgot about bombs on Boba. So point conceded about bombs being exclusive to the Imps, but the designers have said that they want to keep the factions unique, and that includes astromechs for the rebs, Illicit upgrades/salvaged astros for the scum and cloak/bombs for the Imps. There was a video from GenCon where they discuss it. But hey anything we discuss on here is speculation, no?
The IG2000 has a bomb slot also.

I don't know that Recon and R5-P9 is necessarily broken, nor would Dutch and Weapons Engineer (though, just thinking of the possibilities makes me salivate)
Target Locking 2 ships, and passing 2 Target Locks is a lot mind you, but it doesn't seem any worse than Jendon with ST-321 and Weapons Engineer. Being able to TL any ship on the field, and passing it to any ship in close proximity, is worse in my opinion.. As for the R5-P9 combo, it's a bit OP, but nothing amazing. Getting 2 focii in a round and always using one to recover a shield sounds overpowered, BUT it is AFTER combat, so the chances of being taken out are still there, and you can only recover the 1 shield per round.
And... It would definitely make up for the lack of an EPT on the Y-wings..
Edited by Papamamboor a crew slot that causes you to lose your astromech slot
I think that's a little too close to something we already have.
