Arrogant-class Light cruiser
Arrogant-class light cruiser (Concept)
Arrogant-class Light cruiser
I like it. It's a budget light cruiser, a ship for renegades and raiders who probably couldn't field a true light cruiser.
Well, as ship for opportunistic pirates and rogue traders with piratical inclinations, it needs to have some heretech components... In "Hostile Acquisitions" we have Segrazian "Viperdrive" Pirate Drive for raiders and frigates "created by the lawless tech-guilds". How about the same drive but for light cruisers?
Segrazian "Viperdrive"-.b Pirate Drive (hull type: LC, power: 60 generated, space: 18, SP: +2)
Increase the Ship’s Speed by +2 and Manoeuvrability by +5
If an Engines Crippled result is rolled on the Critical Hits table, always treat the engines as wrecked.
I like the writeup. I suggest against adding too many built in components, one or two at most are fine. Special rules could be fun though, such as automatically gaining a ship history.
I feel that package is a bit overpowered for 3SP. I'd suggest the Carnivorous Nature trait only provide a bonus to a single test or attribute, most likely BS tests to fire ship weapons, and changing the Predatory Habits from +1 Speed to +10 Maneuverability.
Or if you want to keep it as is i'd suggest upping the cost to 4 or maybe even 5 SP.
Laying it on the line, how I did this package:
- took "Ancient and wise" ( –4 Hull Integrity, +10 Manoeuvrability);
- took "Wrested from a Space Hulk" (+1 Speed, +1 Armour, +3 Manoeuvrability, In a case of Misfortune roll twice and choose the worse);
- took Tactical Manoeuvre Cogitator from darkreign.org (Archeotech, Space 1, Power 1, SP 3, +5 to Command, Detection, and Ballistics tests and +10 to Maneuverability, +10 bonus to tests involving attempts to Disengage);
- summarized the results;
- thought a little;
Well I know that my paint-skill is low but...
