Warning points?

By Bakura83, in X-Wing

I just realized that my avatar says "0 warning points" under my post count, but no one else does...can you only see your own? Or has something happened?

Each forum account can see their own warning point value. Whether they persist or expire after a period of time, the warning points must be assigned manually by a moderator.

And yes, individuals have been both temporarily and permanently banned.

I imagine you can only see your own.

Mine is the same way. Can see mine but no one else's.

**** it we are all tied at 0?

how are we going to win?

wait, that must be the FFG balance system, if no one wins then no one loses

Quick! Slur me KILODEN, slur me HARD!

hey now im not that kind of guy,

I'm confident there are some people with a much higher number than 0.

hey now im not that kind of guy,

Reported.

WHAT?!?!?!

I AM LOSING?!?!?!?

hey that's a point for me!!!

Weeeeeeee!

It's like golf, people. Lower scores are better.

Somehow this seems OP to me.

I wonder how you get them. Is it straight from 'reported' to warning points, or does a moderator have to intercede?

Moderators doll them out.

So, can I get negative warning points? Is there a handicap system in place (like a Chardaan Refit)?

Seeing as I have first hand knowledge, mine came from a moderator. I made a post, with the intention of teasing a friend on this forum, and it was interpreted another way by a moderator. I was assigned a warning point by by that moderator. He and I PM'ed each other, and I explained the situation.

His explanation surprised me, as I didn't think my post could be interpreted in the way that he did. But, I am an adult, so I accepted the fact that I may have not been entirely clear that I was teasing. Oh well. Live and learn.

Hey man... I just reported you!!! Let us know if you get a warning point.

This thread is hilarious.

Awwhh...poor two cards!

That is genuinely sad...

Great. Thanks.

Let's see if you get one for frivolous use of the reporting engine.

(No, I do not - yet - have a warning point.)

There seems to be an enormous amount of leeway here when it comes to inflammatory posts. It's usually a pretty rare sight to see a thread get locked or deleted, much less the issuance of a warning point. Up until last week I hadn't even heard of someone getting banned.

Oh? Has someone been banned?

Only for a week, sadly.

The "warning" bit is just a typo.

It's actually supposed to be representative of how many points it costs to add you to a squadron.

Presumably you all have zero because you aren't checked out in any snubfighters.
