The discussion of Blount, and some playing around of my own has left me with a quandary. If I have, say 21pts worth of space in a list, what should I fill it with.

Tradition suggests a Rookie, but are there solid alternatives for those points? Some options could include

Blount + IPM + Deadeye

Cracken + Squad Leader

Rebel Op + ICT

What are some other 21pt builds that might be worth taking over a Rookie?

I'm weary of the more expensive headhunters I've poped too many with a single ships attack too often.

For me they shine as dirt cheap blockers.

I'm looking forward to trying generic a-wing of your choice with proton rockets.

Craken with something get my vote most days. For 21pts you can get a HWK with ion turret aswell though so its a tough choice.

Cracken VI shots first at PS 10 then can hand of an action to a Wedge or similar.
