problems in filling the character sheet

By night hunter, in Black Crusade Rules Questions

So, I read the entire core rulebook and I had some problems filling the character sheet:

1. In each of the characteristics boxes there are little boxes on the upper left corner, and tiny circles in the bottom. For what they are used for?

2. Characters start with the skills listed on their race and archetype tables in the "known" level or the "+10" level? When I fill a specialist skill like "common lore" do i need to fill the rank boxes next to the skill name or just next its sub skills?

3. For what the rank line on the top of the sheet is used for?

4. How do I fill the armour section?

could you help me?

thanks

1) Helping you track how many Advances you've taken for that particular Characteristics.

2) You are ending a statement with a questionmark, so I'm unsure of what you ask, and then you go on to ask about lore skills. But if you are asking if you start with "Known" or at "+10" ("Trained"), the answer is that it depends on your Archetype. Some Archetypes start with one or more skills at +10. Most start most of their skills at +0. As for Lores, all of them are tracked individually.

3) Nothing. Draw a ***** there.

4) Any way you want to. I propose you simply fill in what your Armour Points are for each part of your body, depending on what armour you are wearing and what they cover.

Thank you very much, but I still don't understand for what those little boxes on the upper left corner on the characteristics are used for.

And what I meant to ask at the second question is: "in the starting skill list on race and archetype charts, do I get those skills listed in the known level or the +10 level?"

You said it depends on the archetype. How can I know which skills listed in the charts are known and which are +10?

To the little boxes you can write your Character's characteristics bonuses like if you are a space marine with a strength of 46 your bonus is 4 (from your strength) + 4 (from your unnatural characteristics) + 2 (from your legion power armor which give +20 Strength) 10!

Let's assume now that you are a Chaos space marine chosen. You start with a lot of skills two of them: Stealth and Dodge+10.

Sou you got Stealth (which is marked as +0 trained) and a Dodge +10 (which is marked in the +0 and +10 boxes)

Thank you very much, but I still don't understand for what those little boxes on the upper left corner on the characteristics are used for.

Sorry, I must've zoned out. I thought you meant the round things under each box. The small boxes in the upper left for each Characteristics box is for filling in your actual Characteristics Bonus. This is the tens-digit of your Characteristics Score plus any Unnatural Characteristics or similar.

For example, if you have an Intelligence Characteristics of 50, you have an Intelligence Bonus of 5. But if you have Unnatural Intelligence of 5 and an Intelligence Characteristics of 50, your Intelligence Bonus would be 10. So those little boxes are useful for that.

And what a skill starts at depends on your Archetype. Check your Archetype and it'll say. For example, the Heretek can choose to take Security or Tech-Use at +10, if memory serves. All other skills he gets doesn't.

thank you both! :)
