Asteriod control

1) teach me ALL about setting up those rocks, and plz include flight strats with each particularly list you can think of.

2) wouldnt it be neat to have an upgrade card that lets YOU setup all the rocks and/or dice some reds and allow each hit/crit to setup an additional rock?

did you read Paul Heaver's Turn Zero article?

each particularly list you can think of.

I don't know, I can imagine quite a bit.

  1. The rules are each player agrees to the number of terrain piece setup then take turns placing the terrain. So as of now you can say 3 pieces each (for the asteroid set in the starter) and each person takes turns placing terrain. With the debris cloud which acts as a softer obstacle you could mix those in with the asteroid set for you and your opponent to opt over one for the other.
  2. upgrades no, but an official terrain generator using dice might be nice. Sort of the same way everyone uses the attack dice (blanks and focus for misses, hits and critical hits for hits) as a coin for initiative.

Here is a terrain generator I have thought of using the attack die and or defense die for 1 set of asteroids and 1 set of debris cloud.

Defense Die

blank = Debris Cloud set

focus = both Debris Cloud set and Asteroid Set

Evade = Asteroid set

Attack Die

Blank = Empty Space

Focus = 2 pieces of terrain per player

Hit = 3 pieces of terrain per player.

Critical Hit = 4 pieces of terrain per player.

Using both, if not a blank on the attack die then take the number of terrain pieces indicated on the attack die from the set that is shown from the defense die. If that set has ran out of terrain pieces then draw from the other set till the number of terrain pieces per player have been set up. (i.e. running out of debris cloud when each player has only put 2 out of their 4 pieces down. The players then will select Asteroids until their 4th piece is on the table.)
