After thinking about it some more, I think taking this talent should be an informed choice. As you know, I like the talent as is, so maybe people like me should have the option to take it as is.
By taking this talent, you're making a choice to avoid facing multiple opponents when possible in exchange for a boost die. I think there's nothing wrong with that choice, but this thread convinced me that it shouldn't be the economical choice (XP-wise) as well. Taking or not taking this talent should be XP-neutral. Therefore I would prefer it to be at a dead end position of the tree.
You could achieve this by putting it in the first row, or by leaving it where it is and removing the links to Parry and Feint.
