Ok, we can get a bit serious at times ... For fun, design an Aunt Beru crew card!
For Fun: Aunt Beru
1 point: Spend this card to serve blue milk to everyone at the table.
Beru's death: -3 points. Must include luke crewmember on ship as well.

Rebel Only
Discard this card to deploy a Luke Skywalker Xwing in your deployment zone. Immediately remove your opponent's Death Star model if one is in play then kiss your sister.
Beru is such a sore subject in my house... finally got my 5 year old to watch Star Wars with me and after she saw Beru and Owen burned to a crisp she got scared and refuses to watch the movie again because of 'the skeletons'.... stupid Beru.... haha what about a Palpatine card for Empire? He rode in a shuttle after all....
"Grants free focus action to all friendly ships in play"
"If this ship is destroyed, the Empire loses..."
Aunt Beru 1 point - Dismiss fire in the cockpit critical damage.
Stupid iPad double post

A 5-year-old scared by smoldering human corpses? WHO KNEW!?
Parenting Pro-tip: They don't need to see all of Star Wars when they are 5. My parents had a "kid-edit" version I saw until I was 10. I thought it was a pretty good idea and did the same.
yeah in hindsight that would've been great, to be honest I hadn't seen the movie in a while and forgot about how graphic that part looks until it actually showed up. For some reason I remembered it being a far away shot. Not my best parenting moment, but I'll admit, and yeah that's not a bad idea, what'd they do? just fast forward through certain parts?

No Dad actually made a Kid-Edit VHS. He did it with Indiana Jones too. iirc, it cut out the skeletons in IV, the wampa and Han torture in V, and some of Jabba's palace and Luke's electrocution from VI. I used a different method, as I didn't want to mess around with DVD's, I broke the movie into little episodes they watched over a week.
Crying over spilled blue milk. One enemy craft at range one gets 1 ion token and stress token.

....OP?
....OP?
Too soon...
That was hilarious!!!
Aunt Beru: Discard this card at the beginning of your activation phase to remove all stress tokens from one friendly ship.
Luke? Luke! Come to dinner!
Aw, MAN, I can't believe I forgot to put her name on the card... that's like only the MOST IMPORTANT part...
....OP?
Too soon...
Nah it did happen a long long time ago after all

Same thing happened here with the rancor last year. Even though my boys promise that they aren't scared of it anymore, we'll just stick to the finale of A New Hope until they are a little older.
As to the challenge, I think of what Aunt Beru provided for Luke (besides food and blue milk). She provided a safe place where he felt love and understanding. How about this:
- Aunt Beru: Rebel Only (3 point Crew) Once per round, when a friendly ship at range 1-3 would receive a stress token, you may choose to assign that ship a focus token instead. Then receive one stress token.
Hmm....that makes Captain Yorr look weak, but I tried to balance the cost with Kyle Katarn's pilot ability. The other thought I had was more regarding her death:
- Aunt Beru: Rebel Only (1 point Crew) When your ship is destroyed, you may assign a focus token to each friendly unit in play.

Pfft don't coddle her too much she needs to learn the galaxies a harsh place early, it'll give her the killer edge she needs in primary school.
Aunt Beru will never work as crew, in the films, she never left that friggen farm.
Edited by LordColeHow about young Beru Whitesun. Who knows what adventures she had in the the Outer Rim.

Blue Milk Peddler
Action: Choose an enemy ship at Range 1-2. That ship may not use its pilot ability for the remainder of the turn.
[This is a reference to the Darths and Droids functionality of Blue Milk as suppressing one's abilities; in Luke's case it was to hide him from Vader]
Edited by Levi PorphyrogenitusWait, this is FFG we're talking about.
- Aunt Beru [Crew, Rebel Only]. Action: Assign a Blue Milk token to one friendly unit at range 1-3.
But then you have to read the accompanying reference card to figure out what in the world to do with a Blue Milk token...
Edited by ParakitorTwo Parter:
Uncle Owen [Crew]: Action: Prevent Luke Skywalker from taking an action this phase (if pilot) or using special ability (if crew). Ship containing Luke gains a stress token.
Aunt Beru [Crew]: Discard Aunt Beru to Discard Uncle Owen and all versions of Luke Skywalker. Place an Academy Pilot TIE in the Imperial Players Deployment Zone (if present).
You guys are trying too hard.
