Equipment for Astropath Transcendents

By justdave, in Rogue Trader

This has probably been covered loads of times in the forum (in which case could some kind person point me in the right direction :) ) . I'm playing an AT and find (probably because I'm fairly new to the game and don't have the same depth of information/ books available, as the other players), that whilst they are using acquisition to get lots of cool stuff, I have no idea what things would be useful for my character.

He already has a Force Staff  and another melee weapon, along with a couple of ranged weapons.

What I'm after is a pointer in the direction of gear which would help him do his job :D

Any suggestions?

Some gear thoughts!

  • Aetheric Wave-Spars ( Hostile Acquisitions ) give him an extra +1 Psy Rating when pushing.
  • A Psychic Familiar from Navis Primer will probably give him a few extra tricks in combat, especially if you luck out as to which abilities it gains.
  • Talk with your GM, but I've found a Null Rod for when you want to be sneaky is a good idea, as there's all sort of ways for people to detect Psykers, and this can either negate that or at least make it more difficult to get a "read" on your character, in exchange for some massive discomfort on your part.
  • A supply of the White Void ( Into the Storm ) drug for when you really need a Willpower boost to pass a psychic test.
  • Geist ( Hostile Acquisitions ) for a similar (and more dangerous) boost to Psy Rating.
  • A copy of the Liber Heresius ( Faith and Coin ) to boost your Forbidden Lores.
  • An Ashen Skull ( Faith and Coin ) for those pesky opposed willpower tests when Daemons try to take you over.
  • The Emperor's Tarot ( Faith and Coin ) and you can give someone in your party a temporary fate point once per session

Also, Power Armor and a Conversion Shield - because you're no good to anyone dead. Plus if you're anything like our astropath, you can turn the helmet vox off and nobody can hear you cakling to yourself or talking to the voices in your head.

Wow! The wave spars I've just aquired, but the rest of the stuff looks pretty cool, and I've just found out my GM is on this as well :)
