Jar Jar has no soul.
So he's the Gungan equivalent of a ginger?
Some infos on the upgrade cards would be nice

I'll sacrifice Jar Jar if it won't help.
Info on cards would be OK, but without knowing the full workings, it still leaves us with a lot of speculation.
GIVE US A RULEBOOK!
pretty please.
I want to hear more about the fighters! I need to figure out how viable a Rebel fighter swarm is going to be.
It looks like the fighters are going to be real basic, which is about right for the scope of the game. It's the character upgrades that's going to make them interesting. With the purchase of the core set, you only get 4 X-Wings. I think the first Wave I purchase is going to be a pack of Rebel fighters. It also depends on how much they cost as a squadron. We've got the points on the ships, but does anyone know what the fighters cost?
Just the X-Wing <14> and Ties <9>.

i'm sure fighters are going to be vital to success
i'd like to also see where the balance lies, but i get the feeling fighters will be a staple and in large numbers to boot with at least 50% of the points dedicated towards fighters on average
just speculation of course but the numbers game usually comes out on top in most forms of gaming

Do you think that 50% is about right in theory?
It seems a tad too high.
most games that involve dice tend to always lean towards a numbers game
having too many capital ships will leave you hindered, where as too many fighters can be used for longer in game
i know the game is over once all capital ships are destroyed on one side, but a mass array of fighters can be used to keep your opponents fighters engaged at all times while still putting pressure on their capital ships
finding the balance will be crucial, but from seeing how it plays from the ffg demo, i'm willing to bet that a large capital ship and a smaller capital ship followed by a large mass of fighter squadrons will likely be the common dominating force
Far too high I'd say, especially when you remember that having all capital ships destroyed means you lose. The numbers game usually works, but not if it comes at the cost of your victory conditions.
Add to that how capital ships can shoot every fighter in their arc during the shooting phase, and you can see how mass-spamming fighters can end up rather badly. Half your fleet going poof in two or three rounds of anti-squadron fire, if you're unlucky.
No, I think a balance is better here. 25 to 30%. Make the opponent question whether he should be shooting at your squadron or your capitals.
well it's all speculation anyways.
we will see once the core set with a few expansions are released to truly tell
there are still A LOT of unknowns about the game and what kind of upgrades are included

Close to what I was thinking, as well.

Exactly!
While SW:Armada seems to have a good number of capital ships and fighters to choose from, striking a balance between fighters and capital ships is key to game balance. From all indications, as well as what we have seen, the rules system will have it all.... But I'm over excited to see a little more of the rules in order to satiate me for the next 5+months.
I think it will come down to what options the capital ships have available. IF antisquadron is capped at 3 (and mostly with the Rebels) Rebel fighter swarms may be viable. IF we see antisquadron captital ships (Carracks and Lancers) and if those ships get higher antisquadron (say 4 or 5) enough to make the Rebel fighters sweat then it certainly would add a layer or two of complexity, needing to hold back your X-wings until you can kill the Lancer with your Captial ships, needing to decide if a Lancer is a better fit than the equivalent points in Ties (I would guess less raw equivalent HP and AntiSquad shooting but it can only be shot 1 time by enemy ships and gets many shots at the fighters)

You may find there's a balance built in to fleet building, as in you can take X number of squadrons per capital ship. Otherwise this could rapidly become a massed fighter game with the odd capital ship hanging back on the table edge. Remember capital ships get an anti-fighter attack per squadron in range, so unless there's a way of dropping their anti-fighter firepower, it's still going to be very dangerous to take them on.
Vs fighter swarm you stick your capital ships togeather so they can cover eachother. Any squadron aproaching can potentially get shot by 6 to 9 dices. Also you can screen your fleet with few cheap fighter squadrons and when enemy is stuck in dogfight waste them with ship aa.
I think they need to release the game... There is so much hearsay, conjecture and bull on this forum, its already burning me out and the game is months away from release. This is why I hate Gencon.

There wasn't a presentation at Pax Prime or anything for either this or X-wing was there?

There was a news article that said they were going but I cannot find it anymore.
Predates the Armada announcement so it doesn't specify Armada being there but you know it will be.

So...don't read the forums? Nobody says you have to be on here getting burnt out and subjected to "bull."
