Chewbacca Piloting Millenium Counter

By GannerRhysode, in X-Wing

Real quick, how do you deal with that pilot ability? What crits can he be affected by?

Basically, anything that flips a damage card from face-down to face-up, rather than assigning a face-up one. Brath is the big gun, but Saboteur works too (note that this isn't an endorsement of Saboteur).

Thanks, Vorpal!

I literally just made a Rexler list so that works out perfectly...I am going to face Chewie this weekend O_O

Remember to give him a HLC too

Let the wookiee win.

No way Rebel scum.

Defender bust him open.

You know, honestly, I haven't gotten to try that out yet. I know my saying this might make some people angry, but Falcons are about the least used ship in our local meta.

if your using brath predator really helps him out, or jonus if he's using a hlc. can help you keep your focus for his crit ability or defense. (also, vessory is a great anti chewy pilot in his own right, often 3-4 hits every single turn is hard to turn down (for what))

I've been playing Rexlar a lot lately, and honestly I wouldn't give him more than Predator. He's already 37 points. At 40, he pulls his weight and still leaves room for a solid mini-swarm. At 44 or 47, you really start feeling the bloat.

Here's my squad:

Rexlar with Predator

Howlrunner with Swarm Tactics

Backstabber

Academy Pilot x2

You get three ships attacking at PS8. Howlrunner gets to help Rexlar with another primary reroll against high-PS pilots. Backstabber adds a third attack at PS6, while the Academies are solid blockers.

I play rebels.. so no defender for me.. but focus fire does the trick too

This is the list that I made:

===
KRY
===

98 points

Pilots
------

Rexler Brath (50)
TIE Defender (37), Heavy Laser Cannon (7), Marksmanship (3), Experimental Interface (3)

Captain Yorr (24)

Kir Kanos (24)

That way he can Focus, Exp. Interface for the Marksmanship, the Stress goes to Yorr, and Kanos Evades so, if I focus fire, I can drop 12 dice a turn at a target, being able to still turn Rex's damage cards up.

*KRY is an affiliated group with KCCO. Kanos' Crowd Control Offensive retains all rights for this ship build and rents out those rights for Three Blood Offerings to the Emperor.

Rexler Brath (50)

TIE Defender (37), Heavy Laser Cannon (7), Marksmanship (3), Experimental Interface (3)

Ooh. I wouldn't; Defenders really struggle to get rid of stress. Yorr helps, but only while he's in range, and the Defender wants to be able to boom-and-zoom rather than being yoked to a shuttle.

A very viable tactic against "fat Chewie" or normal Chewie is to use Outmaneuver. It will rob the Falcon of its one evade die and prevent C-3PO working at anything other than range 3.

Combined with a HLC even range 3 won't help.

"Fat Falcons" are a bit of a one trick pony.

3 Black Squadron Pilots with Outmaneuver still leaves plenty of points for other goodness as well to deal with whomever the Falcon brings along.

Just keep doing damage to him as if you were fighting a B-wing or E-wing, use cards like Heavy Laser Cannons. Direct hits while still the most common result is still less than 50% of drawing from a full damage deck. Once Chewie has 8 damage cards on him his ability counts for nothing.
