X-Wing Mission Control is a free online resource that allows you to design and share new X-Wing missions.

X-Wing Mission Control’s custom editor allows you to easily create any play scenario you can imagine, whether it’s drawn from the Star Wars trilogy or completely unique.

Simply select the size of your play area and define the ships you wish to permit. You can create mission-specific squad-building rules, or you can identify any number of specific ships and upgrades. If you use Mission Control to track your collection, it will even identify any mission components not included in your X-Wing collection.

Furthermore, Mission Control’s custom editor easily allows you to select components from all available X-Wing products.

I guess it's for browsers only right now. No mobile.

Interesting, I'll give it a check this weekend.

Yup. HUGE disappointment. Oh well. Looks nice for what it does.

Why is "Collection" hidden away inside a mission?

I don't..... EVER want to play a mission. I only ever want to do battles, skirmishes... normal fights. The only time I've ever played a "scenario" is for these huge group events where I don't even really care what happens I'm just there to socialize. I simply don't get the appeal of missions.

Looks like they are 99% of the way to having a functional X-Wing online game actually.

I like scenarios myself. 100 point skirmish can get a little old. the tricky part is balancing the scenario well.

I'd like to see the "Collection" part not inside mission creation, but it's a fun app.

If I could play more often I'd play a ton of missions and scenarios. This will eventually come in handy for me, just not what I was hoping for.

So a cool X-wing program is released and met with........... disappointment?? What's with the scenario hate??

Exiting the creator bounces you to the Descent generator. LOL.

I put my wishlist in another thread, but based on what was said at GenCon I was expecting hoping for something more robust.

Not being mobile-based being the big shortcoming, for me.

Oh cool, a new sub-forum that has nothing to do with any of the topics people have been begging for.

The missions and scenarios look GREAT!

I can't wait to see if anyone embraces a better style of play than the (getting to be monotonous) six asteroid deathmatch! :)

so who wants to design a full scale Endor???? It'll only take roughly 1000 ships or so!! (377 Rebel fighters NOT counting capitals...... 1st turn would be like 5 hours  )

How can you be disappointed with something you have not used yet, thoroughly?

Your post is 6 minutes after the main page and link were made available??

Because it takes all of 3 minutes to know what it isn't (as discussed in this thread).

It looks lovely for what it is. Many of us were hoping it was more.

A large complaint from those that prefer Attack Wing is the lack of scenarios. Even if the good ones are only a fraction of those published, X-wing will still soon eclipse Attack Wing's missions. There are people who prefer scenarios to standard skirmish games. This tool is for them. Just because it isn't for you, doesn't mean that this isn't a great idea.

I don't do many missions. But I'm not going to lie, I'm going to play around with this tool. At least, to prepare for Imperial Assault.

What's the need for it to be a mobile app? It seems to me that wouldn't even work very well.

Having the collection in the mission builder makes sense. It's not for tracking your collection, it's for making sure you have all the components needed for the scenarios.

So the system can tell if I have everything needed to play it.

Frankly any sense of disappointment is misplaced, this seems to be a beta test of just the mission creation part of the over all package.

OMG THIS^^

Y'know.... we should totally overrun that NEW forum and make it into the new painting and customization subforum.... like on our own. Everyone just start posting your repaints, sculpts, etc in that forum. Maybe they'll get the hint?

Umm, you know this is Mission Control and not Command. It looks like they may be too different entities now. One for mission related fun (Mission Control) and the other for squad building (Command).

Good point.

Or they'll combine them when they think that Mission Control works like they want it to...

Tried to find the slide from GenCon, but I think it said mobile device support, on it, but it doesn't make sense to do that until you have the bugs and features figured out first.

I suspect they changed the name in order to not cause confusion with Star Wars Command or Star Wars Commander.

I like it a lot. Great addition for friendly games.
