So I was looking at a topic on the general forum regarding C-3PO and it raised a question to me. Regarding the evade action, I always thought that the evade was only used if you get a blank green die, the evade would be used instead. It seemed from that forum that evade tokens can be used even if green dice are unable to be rolled due to outmaneuver or whatnot. First of all, is that true? Second of all does that mean if I have 2 green dice and get 2 evades, could I use the evade token to give myself a third evade token? Thank you, I'm sure this has all been covered before I just couldn't find anything and figured this was the easiest way to find out.
Questions about evade
Yes, an evade token is usable no matter how many dice you roll. Think of it as a extra dice you don't roll, it's just put into the pool of dice for the compare dice step.
If I understand your second question correctly... Yes.
If you have an evade token, and roll 2 dice each with an evade, you have 3 evades you can put in the dice pool for the compare dice step.
It's important to point out that you don't have to use that evade token then, if there's only 2 <hits> there's no need to spend your evade token if you already have 2 evades from dice.
Got it, not that all makes a lot more sense to me. Thanks a lot Vanor!

It's even BETTER than "an extra die" because the Evade token can often be used against things that dice can not touch. If you get shot at by an Autoblaster the dice results can not cancel any of the [hit] results but tokens CAN. Similarly, if you are attacked by Ten and he gets a [crit] the dice could not be used to cancel one of those but the token can assuming all the [hit] results are already cancelled.
Evade tokens may not save you when there is no "cancel dice" phase but I believe it is usable against any attack.
That's actually pretty awesome it honestly changes my entire perspective on them

You're right, there are times where an evade token will work when a die won't.

There's an old argument in Magic about ranking cards as being "strictly better" than others. There are some rare situations where the "inferior" card can be better.
An evade token is worse than an extra defence dice if you're being shot at with Homing Missiles.

For what it's worth, you can reroll an extra dice but not the result of the evade token.
I've rerolled an evade token. It kinda rolled around the table for a bit before finally settling on... evade. Not much of a surprise really. ![]()
