A Few Trap Questions...

By Montag1, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

I've got a few Trap Questions regarding RtL.

1.) We have been playing that you can not play any Trap cards on somebody who is adjacent to a Glyph. So no pits or crushing blocks, etc when a character moves into a space that is adjacent to a Glyph. We have been doing that from the beginning but looking back over the rules I cant find anything that supports this. I am assuming I am just missing it but can anybody confirm that we are doing this correctly or not?

2.) Crushing Blocks can NOT be used if their is an impassble terrain object adjacent to the space you want to drop the Crushing Block on. So if their is rubble or something like that adjacent to the space you cannot use that card. However, is there any restriction on where you can place a Pit? Can you place a Pit adjacent to Rubble and Crushing Blocks?

3.) If you CAN place a pit next to a Crushing Block than I assume OL's would "chain" their traps if possible? That seems pretty nasty to me and seems its a good way for the OL to almost assure a kill (especially if they have the Trap Master Power card in play).

Thanks,

Montag

1) Yes you can play a trap card on a space adjacent to a glyph. Actually, prior to this latest FAQ you could actually play a Crushing Block on a glyph if you wanted to. There is a list in the FAQ covering what blocks the playing of CB.

Q: Which map items count as obstacles for the Crushing Block trap card?
A: Crushing Block may never be played in a space adjacent to any token (or built-in map element) that blocks movement. The reason for this is to prevent the Overlord from sealing a hallway completely and preventing the heroes from ever progressing. This is a list of all relevant obstacles, current through the Road to Legend: Boulder, Crushing Wall, Rubble, Water. (Villagers are figures, not map elements.)

2) See the FAQ answer above, but since Pits do not block movement you can place it adjacent to Rubble or CBs.

3) Yes it is possible, and yes it is nasty and don't think for a second of nerfing the OL by taking that away.
