Greedo and damage

By zhentil, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Okay Greedo is worded like this.

The first time you attack each round and the first time you defend each round, the first Damage card is dealt face up.

Now my question is this. I have a B-WIng and it is attack by Bobba Fett who has the Greedo crew card. His first damage card is Direct hit. The B-Wing still have all it's shields. Now it gets attacked again, The first attack is again face up and it's say Blinded Pilot. Now technically the B-Wing has 4 Shields left and no Hull. Is it still alive? Just wondering how that works.

it doesn't works like that...

In order for a card to be dealt, the defender has to have no shileds left. So in the case of the B-Wing being shot, the first 2 attacks simply remove shields, they don't deal damage cards.

What Gredo does, is effectively turn a <hit> into a <crit> but you follow the normal rules for those effects.

Vanor is correct, although I would refrain from saying it is like turning a hit to a crit, just because the timing of the cards being dealt is different.

Say you had no shields and failed to evade 2 hits and 1 crit from a ship with greedo. Greedo would turn the first one face up meaning the cards would be dealt in this order:

Face up, face down, face up.

I realize it's a nit-picky distinction, but that is how it would play out.

Thank you guys, just making sure i got all that. So how would this work against Chewie, it would just be put face down again right.

Correct. Greedo causes the card to be dealt face up, Chewie takes that face up card and immediately flips it face down.

No your right, it is an important distinction to make.
