Attempting a Rebel version of my favorite Imperial list

By nikk whyte, in X-Wing

Once rebel aces hits the shelves I'll be making the switch back to rebels, and I wanted to come up with a list similar to the one I'm having a lot of success with right now. I'll post the imperial list, and then the equivalent rebel list. Tell me why I'm so very wrong.

Current awesome list:

Krassis, HLC, rec spec

Carnor, ptl

Royal guard, ptl

Equivalent rebel list:

Keyan Farlander, FCS, HLC, ptl, engine upgrade

Jake Farrell, test pilot title, refit, ptl, VI

Gemmer Sojan, test pilot title, proton rockets, munitions failsafe, ptl

The b-wing acts as the firespray, using push the limit to get stress each turn, which combined with getting focus once a turn, grants me the same benefit as recon specialist. The boost is an added bonus, instead of that ten health from the firespray.

Jake takes carnors place, only with 3 actions and 9 pilot skill. Should be good enough to make up for carnors ability and that extra attack die.

Gemmer takes the place of the royal guard, but can also lay down immense hurt in one turn with proton rockets,

So, what do you think?

Forgive me if I'm missing something, but why Test Pilot on Gemmer if only the one EPT?

other than that, looks like it should be a fun list. Decent matchup with the Imp version, too.

Gemmer doesn't have an EPT without the title.

Gotcha, thanks!

Is that perhaps too many upgrades? Could I lose proton rockets and MF for another refit and, and use the spare 6 points for 2 hull upgrades on the a-wings?

That turns the a-wing into a blisteringly fast tie advanced.

If you're gonna do that, take two stealth devices instead of the hull, better chance to evade and keep your shields rather than the passive benefits of hull.

Or even, once the yt-2400 comes out, take dash with HLC and rec spec.

I only lose the attack dice at range one, but I gain 180 degrees of shooting I didn't have and a barrel roll for the same points as krassis.

Man, krassis is expensive for what you get.

I'd swap the rockets over to Jake since he has the better ability to get into position to use it (and Gemmer's ability is wasted on the rocket anyway).

Predator is also better on Jake since he gets a free BR/Boost anyway, what's the point of being stressed?

Push the limit pushes him into a soontir level of action economy, and he has the dial to shake it off.
