Greetings all,
I am going to start a play by post DH game (3-5 players) in the very near future. I am planning on running through all of the published adventure material, to include : Edge of Darkness, Purge the Unclean, and Tattered Fates. I do this not for a lack of imagination on my part, but because I just think the published material is great and want to take it out of the box and play. The style of play will be high narrative, with each player contributing to an unfolding story in as detailed a prose-style as they deem fit. The interpretation of the rules will be largely strict and merciless, rewarding a cunning, cautious, and thoughful style of play. Fate points will very helpful indeed, and long term character survival prospects are both grim and dark. The only house rule I'm considerinig right now is 'Social initiative,' which functions like combat initiative for social interaction, using Fel and Int as modifying characteristics. This creates an 'order of play' for social interaction, and prevents everyone from trying to speak at once. It also further rewards socially inclined characters and NPC'S with a great deal of control over the direction and tenor of conversations. Characters will be randomly generated, with only small tweaks applied at the end of the process, as I believe this creates more interesting characters and a more sportsman-like play.
I am currently returned from a combat deployment and have a few months of precious unemployment, so I will be available to post well and often, I am looking for players who are inclined to so the same. Sufficed to say, in-game combat will be realistic and informed by professional experience. Most play will be 'By Post', but I may haul the group over to OpenRPG or something on special occasions.
I post here for the dual purpose of recruiting in the Emperor's Holy Name, and for asking all you fine citizens if you have any recomendation as to a particular Play by Post service that has preformed well in your experience.
I apologize if this is not the appropriate place for this post.
