Sir Blox All Lot - How to Survive a Feline with Terry (for Dummies!)

By MarcoPulleaux, in UFS Deck Building

So Terry's cooler than I gave him credit for. He's got a nifty stacker, a pretty boss defense-offense ability, and some fingerless gloves that really mean business. While I've always said "speed reduction will only matter if you can draw", Terry's got the goods to run a deck made almost entirely out of blocks, and be able to take as minimal damage as possible.

Let's play the explain game!

-Terry stax r fun. With Wild Wolf's brown bomber jacket in play, I get to draw 2 cards at the end of the turn, which is great in conjunction with Crack Counter, which would theoretically net me an 8 handsize at the end of the turn. His E Commit is also STOOPID lame with the fact that Terry can has blocks, because I'll gain back whatever I happened to lose during their last turn.

-Terry's gloves are gonna PAWNCH YOU IN THE FACE! Or just block mine. Besides having debatably good symbols, not gonna lie, Jeff's Gloves ought to see play. Non-unique asset that has otherwise built-in draw support? Dude, where the Hell is Earth? Anyways, Jeff's Gloves are pretty central to this deck. Terry's ability pretty much requires 2 cards to ever abuse it, and Jeff's Gloves (especially in multiple copies) helps accomplish this. Tira's Contract is also glory with Gloves.

-I'm not a fan of All, and after building this, I'm not gonna lie, I'm even less of one. All's lacking. But, it still has some things, namely some pretty sweet attacks. This deck is no Flayer-Launcher-Breaker deck, but with high checks up the whazoo (14 6-checks), Visions of Destiny + draw power, my deck's gonna go for broke with Terry's Falcon Kick (FK) and Kick to the Jaw (KR). Pommel is obviously there for beastin utility purposes, and Crack Counter is simply amazing in this deck. Oh yeah, and for lawlz, Pommel Smash + Terry ability = ROFLCopter. I'll give Pommel -6 speed. If you do not block it, you take 7 damage. Have fun blocking a pommel smash <3.

-I really enjoy the foundations here because they're simply fun for Terry. Fast Food Lover used to be in here, but I wanted the deck to run as many blocks as possible, and with Bitter Rivals and Terry's ability being stuipdity sauce, I didn't think it'd ever be necessary. Firstly, Tira's Contract is wow. The Contract with Blocking, really, the card functions as the all around block card when all else fails. Lord of the Makai serves as dual role of momentum-generating machine and block-friendly tutorsauce. Chester's, Trapped, and Controller are all the anti-meta I could find for All besides the above cards. Trapped in particular is a real LOL way to bait Chester's and get around Bloods. Counter the Assault is the only All draw I could find that simply GIVES me a card, as opposed to Tychoon and Rootless, which give my opponent one. Flight is for when Terry's E isn't appropriate. Destiny + Gloves = did I just tutor stuff? Conditioned Reflexes is hands down one of the best foundations for those who can abuse it. Allow me to explain

Before you take damage, you gain that much. Most people die to Feline because of taking THREE spikes, NOT two. As such, I could hypothetically eat one Spike (pssht, yeah right, Terry? Not blocking? Unheard of!), and on the second copy, just soak it up with Reflexes. It works even better for when I survive a turn with less than printed, then shoot up to printed off it.

...and Saikyo-ryu is Saikyo-ryu.

Cool deck, man! Not a fan of 4.Terry, as Wild Wolf is my fave version of him (besides his older Promo version with his Legacy support), but i really like what you 've done with him.

T-U-R-T-L-E Power...T-U-R-T-L-E Power...yea...your Terry doesn't like taking damage...WHAT?!

Bah, I miss OLD *Terry*. You know, the "I HAVE BUILT IN LORD OF THE MAKAI E COMMIT" and super duper burn ability (best abuser of Burning Knuckle).

***Terry*** is cool, but he isn't reducing attack's speeds into the negatives now is he? =P

While this deck is turlish in style, I HATE decks that play minimal attacks and hide behind walls (having played against 4 of them at regionals, um, NO!). That's why my deck packs plenty muscle and aggression :)

For flavor, I demand that Fire Kick replace Shin Shoryuken. It has utility purposes too; it's basically an even-better Crack Counter that doesn't cycle your opponent's hand.

Well...

-Yeah, I guess losing a block won't matter if the attack goes down in difficulty. 4HIGH > 5MID IMO, and obviously 6 difficulty > 7

-Crack Counter's E is obviously used on my turn. Why would I care if my opponent draws up to their handsize during my end phase? They were gonna draw anyways!

But yeah, good advice is good, and a non-fully blocked Fire Kick could mean trouble for the opponent =)

::Terry:: First E + Cathedral Overlook E + American Made = Profit.

I see what ya did there

Eh, having a permanent block is cool, but it'd take those two cards to do it, both of which I'm not the biggest fan of. I think I should have enough draw, and if I ever build this deck, I'll see if using draw is better or worse than constant block using Overlook.

Overlook is mad ballin' dood. In a pinch you can even pick it up and use it as a half-Chief Hold on the action side. (and you want to pick it up before you aggro out, lest your opponent scoop their board for blocks)

American Made... a 1/5 matching 3 symbols and having a remotely useful effect... go for it :P

Bleh, changes made,

-1 Jeff's
-1 Pommel
-1 BRT
-1 Lord
+2 Cathedral
+2 American Made
