Tira - Air

By MegaGeese, in UFS Deck Building

So for our regional, I played Tira for Teams; no Chun-Li sandbag or anything!

Since then (all of two days, ha), I've changed the deck up a little, just tinkering with it; I actually originally built the deck the day of the tournament, and, in fact, did so in the registration/decklist portion of the day. From memory, the orignal was...

Characters: 0 + 1
1x Tira

Actions: 6
4x Tag Along
1x Gloomy Side
1x Jolly Side

Assets: 8
3x Lynette's Shop
3x Olcadan's Mentoring
2x Path of the Master

Attacks: 15
4x Ichi no Tachi
4x Knight Breaker
3x Midnight Launcher
2x Menuett Dance
2x Shredding Vibrato

Foundations: 35
4x Chester's Backing
4x Inhuman Perception
4x Lord of the Makai
4x Makai High Noble
3x Blinding Rage
3x Chinese Boxing
3x Flames of Fame
3x Kabuki Artist
3x Perfect Sense of Balance
3x The King of Fighters 2006
2x Billiard Player
2x Return to Southtown

Sideboard:
3x Destiny
3x Healer
2x Soul Wave

I couldn't use iSpin, sadly.

I reworked it a bit today (while everyone else was playing, hah, and it's a bit chunkier, but I like the general foundation base a bit better; Counter the Assault, Stand Off, Shooting Capoeira, and the above foundations. Deck is about 68 cards, though, and is running 6 2-checks (iSpin and Menuett).

Characters: 0 + 1

2x Menuett Dance
2x Shredding Vibrato

3x Return to Southtown
3x Shooting Capoera
2x Abelia's Friendship
2x Billiard Player
2x Driven by Fear
2x Stand Off

I couldn't find my Heel Snipes, that's why =/

Anyway, it's not too bad. I'll be cutting Counter the Assualt, because, as amusing as it is, it's not worth it in this particular deck; biggest pump I got was a +5. Stand Off is a hidden gem, but the tech MVP of the deck is definitely Driven by Fear; it takes things to a whole new level. I also couldn't find my Perfect Sense of Balance, so I didn't use those, either.

I may well cut Abelia's, since it wasn't hugely useful. However, I could instead take out Return to Southtown for one more copy of Abelia's, thinning the overall count by a total of 2. Everything else was fine. I somehow managed to make up for my fantastic checking yesterday by checking spectacularly badly today =D

I may keep this deck on hand as something fun/semi-competitive to play with, and tune it a bit, so that it's relatively polished come August. Who knows? I might play Tira for Worlds =/

And a bump for relevance.

Nice looking deck, man.

How well does Billiard Player work for you? I'm experimenting with an Air/Chaos build of starter Zi mei and i'm thinking of adding the card. Does it really help accelerate on your Kill? I notice its only a 2-of...

Im not sold on spinta's yet but I havent tried them. Counter the assault I dont think you really need. The deck looks like it can do plenty of damage without the pump and the draw power isnt really needed. I would try taking out 1 spin for another dance but thats just me. Billiard is a card i want to try as it can help you get your pieces much faster (such as momentum gen for dance and such). Whirlwind i think would be better then driven by fear. Other then that looks pretty good.

Trust me. Once someone sells them to you, you will be sold. (see what I did there? It shouldn't make sense :3) But really, they're great.

The first time I looked at the first list, I thought "ZOMG DEATH DEK!!?!?!" ... but then I saw the foundation base, and then I looked at the thread title again, and I kinda went "... :( ".

Abelia's being un-useful strikes me as somewhat of a suprise. Maybe stuff some redux in there so you'll actually have an opportunity to use the lifegain... I mean, you can't be faster than everyone (definitely not, when you're only running 2x of each attack that can kill anyone XD) so in the longer game the lifegain+card advantage should pay off more and more.

Mega Geese do you even check your trade list anymore? lol

Don't forget that you can probably make the deck a little more thicker than normal, if you so please, due to how she works with Jolly and Gloomy Side. She essentially becomes a 57+3 deck.
