Potential Regional Deck- Good Hilde

By HolyDragonCloud, in UFS Deck Building

With our regional fast approaching, and with me being flatout uncomfortable with my Ibuki deck (it just doesn't suit my playstyle), I decided to go back to hard aggro for our regional, and I'll be sporting a Good-version of Hilde.

Characters:
x1 Hilde*

Assets: 8
3 Olcadan's mentoring 0/6
3 Path of the Master 2/5
2 Assassination Arts 2/5

Actions: 7
4 Dual-Wielding 4/4
3 Tag Along 5/4

Attacks: 12
4 Lynx Tail 4/3
4 Heel Snipe 6/3
4 Ichi no Tachi 3/3

Foundations: 37
4 Amy's Assistance 2/4
4 Red Lotus of the Sun 2/5
4 Healer 1/4
4 Buddist Devotion 2/5
4 More Machine than Woman 2/5
4 Memories of a Nightmare 2/5
4 Torn Hero 1/5
3 Destiny 2/5
3 Arrogant and Insolent 2/5
3 Distractible 2/5

Side Board
3 Fight or Flight
1 Tag Along
4 Holding Ground

Path of the Master makes it in to put some pumps up if i need to push over some damage. Couldn't care less about the other effects on the card. Buddist Devotion is just great for Hilde...hell it screams Hilde. Anything that sets up a kill turn faster is money. Distractible is splashed in to help deal with Hilde's biggest enemy-rejection.

I would have gone with Big Cyclone as the third attack, but I much rather use something that isn't as easy to play around in Ichi.

Comments appreciated!

Four Buddhist is asking for trouble, dood.

Otherwise, it looks really, really good.

I'd go with 3...but I want to have them early and often. Unless I can find something else to fool with on ratios.

Very similar to my Order Hilde, which is more based on drawing/aggro, but I don't run Amy since I don't have any to begin with...But anyhow, seeing that you're running 4 Dual Wielding which is really difficult to play with since it's a 4/4. And the thing with Fight or Flight isn't really good unless you're running Hilde's Siren's Call. I got to agree with MegaGeese about the Buddist unless you're running control cards like Program Malfunction or Chinese Boxing (maybe Hope for One's People). And finally I would also suggest running a couple of Wolfkrone Monuments which is an excellent combination with Arrogant and Insolent, plus when you commit it for your last attack of the turn, your opponent can't use its ability.

For aggressive decks that aim to end things quickly, three or four would probably work just fine. In a regular deck, there's either no space, or it's something you'd run at two max to avoid possible Owlface shenanigans sticking two First F's in your staging area.

Have you messed about with Cage Arena at all? Everyone says it's the bees knees and all...I'm a bit apathetic about it, tho.

I don't have the Cage Arenas from my Talim deck anymore, or else I would think about it. It's not that great, though. I rather use POTM, which can lead to all the damage pump i need from its effect, plus since there is a min 1 on the card, I'm not too hot on it. I'm not going for much control with the deck. If i can't pull off Turn 2s a good amount, I'm not going to do well period.

I'll keep all the suggestions in mind, however, Sato. Geese wasn't downplaying having them in, Sato. He was just saying running 4 is a stretch. Which I know it is. Trust me, they belong in the deck.

SO THIS IS HOW IT'S GOING TO BE JOHN WELL FINE THEN I,M GONNA RUN HER TOO SO THERE lengua.gif . I see that your not gonna run Ibuki cause **** near everybody in Mags crew gonna run her into the ground (yeah John B told me that). Oh and may the best one win. cool.gif

you're killin me, jason!

changes btw. More machine than woman in over national tae kwon doe.

When June rolls around (next Monday), Cursed Blood will officially become legal.

Assuming your regionals is after June, plan on adding Cursed Blood. That can reduce Buddhist to 3.

sadly, Shinji, Omar is running our regional this saturday. As far as I can tell, he won't be letting us get a 2-day advantage on the cards. I can always call and ask him. If such a case arises, I'll definitely reduce some ratios to fit in 3 or 4 of bloods.

I'd say go for it. Lack of legal Cursed Blood is the whole reason I haven't yet built my tri-symbol Gen.

Why no lightning Horns? It's pretty much hilde on an attack.

No need for it. It's excessive, and all my current attacks compliment the deck. Heel Snipe hits a troublesome card uncontested as well as protects my enhances. Ichi is anti-multiple and can hit an annoying foundation, and Lynx Tail is a cheap attack that compliments the deck well.

Torn Hero without White Magic is a pretty sad hero indeed =/

Also, no love for Family Heirloom? Not sure how your regionals will go, but judging from mine, green cards are EVERYWHERE! Load up 3 Heirloom IMO. It makes for a decent asset (yay with committed Hilde for momentum), and most importantly it's gonna get rid of the two cards that can potentially kill Hilde cold: Seal of Cessation and Assassination Arts.

1-Torn Hero's presence alone is enough. I'm not making room for White Magic if all it is going to do is fuel 1 card (possibly 2 in More Machine Than Woman, which i'm not too concerned about)

2-I have no heirlooms, nor do I need the Asset hate. Red Lotus will cover me for Olcadans, which is the only asset that will bother me, at the most.

Well, while you have Heel Snipe and Amy's Assistance, it couldn't hurt to have extra defense against the ever-popular Seal, and let's face it, as soon as you turn Hilde sideways, Assassination Arts is going to lawl at your attack (unless you have your Distractibles out, which are Order-only).

Just something to consider is all, not to mention gives you instant momentum for your two Torn and More Machine.

3 is enough for a 7 handsize, I think. Also, if you're not gonna use PotM to it's fullest extent, I don't see why you should run it.

extra damage source. Helps to push damage over if I'm short a few necessary foundations/effects to get enough damage off of Hilde.

Remember, every dual wielding in my card pool=+3 damage.
