I've still got 3 points to go - Hull Upgrade or Munitions failsafe for Rhymer, 1 Detla to Onyx, or an Ion Cannon are valid options but I can't quite decide what best fills these final points (not filling them is an option too)

Since I've 5 other lists and only 10 days of practice to choose one for an upcoming tournament (TO set a deadline for lists for next Sunday), really would appricate some advice.

Ask yourself the following questions:

1) How does my squad deal with a Tie swarm?

2) How does this squad deal with a Phantom?

3) How does this squad deal with a Fat Falcon?

If you have answers to al three; you are good to go.

Enjoy!

What appeals to you about Rhymer with Clusters? That is, why this list instead of (e.g.) Jonus/2x Delta+HLC, or a straight Bomber list?

Personally, I'd swap out the cluster missiles. I've never seen them used to very stunning effect, especially when compared to something like Concussion Missiles. Take those and Flechette Torpedoes, and that gives you even more room to work with (seismic charges?).

Cluster Missiles used to be a pretty weak choice, but two things make a big difference in this build: Predator gives you an easy way to modify both of your attacks, which is one of the things that used to hold them back, and they're also very effective against Falcons with Threepio.

cool to know

I would take an Ion Cannon on one of the deltas or a siesmic charge on Ryhmer. However, I'm not sure Ryhmer will live long enough to use it.

MF is probably a waste. Remember you got to miss with both attacks: http://community.fantasyflightgames.com/index.php?/topic/109872-cluster-missiles-with-munitions-failsafe/?hl=%2Bcluster+%2Bmissiles+%2Bmunition+%2Bfailsafe#entry1163989

Highly unlikely you'll miss with both attacks with predator and be able to shoot 3 sets of cluster missiles before Ryhmer gets blown up.

Yeah a thrid opportunity to fire ordinance won't happen at 100 ... MF is was more or less an option for completenes' sake.

Then you have never seen them on Rhymer - the range boost often makes all the difference

And with a modifier option (here Predator - in other cases Jonus) they usually strip a defensive token with the first attack and still do damage with the 2nd one

Seismic Charges could work on Rhymer because his PS is high enough, so they are less of gamble but they are still easily avoided by an opponent aware of them (the only times I manage to use bombs to certain effect is in games where opponent just forgets they are there)

The TOs also restricted squads in that tournament to physically avalible cards and I don't have Flechette Torps (and after paying for the 2nd Decimator I'm disinclined to buy more expansions this year), so that option is out of the question

I'd recommend Hull Upgrade. Major Rhymer will be the target for as long as he's still got missiles, so you want him to live long enough to get both off. This is actually a good thing, since the Delta Squadron Pilots are much better closers.
