Life Damage Pump for standard {block3}?

By KiiT2, in UFS General Discussion

What does life have for damage pump foundations outside of the silent soldier/the kyokugen karate innovator/kyokugen karate?

Base Hold

Explosive Earrings (Leona-effect)
Inner Circle (Yuri-effect)
Monastery of Mt. Lao
Pendant of the Western Paradise (has Life, but pumps Earth attacks)
The Dragon of Mt. Lao
Tieh Lei, Iron Thunder

Dark Past
Inner Turmoil
Kyoukugen Karate
Memories of a Nightmare
Regretful Existence
The Kyoukugen Karate Innovator
The Silent Soldier
Will for the Fight
Zhao Family Discipline

hope that helps!

There's Striking Thunder too if you get it into your momentum, though it's not effective in all Life decks...

Seems to me like it'd be prime in Life decks, what with all its speed pumps and access to Atoning for the Past.

And yet the question in the original post said foundations why are you adding characters/attacks/actions/assets?

Dark Past- requires face up momentum...
Inner Turmoil- requires lots of momentum plus it destroys itself...
Kyoukugen Karate- hey lets just remove all my attacks... (was asking for ones other than this per original post)
Memories of a Nightmare- the second ability is a hell of a lot better then the crappy +1/-1 damage...
Regretful Existence- just let me destroy my staging area to save you the trouble...
The Kyoukugen Karate Innovator- hurray more self destroying single time pump... (was also asking for ones other than this per original post)
The Silent Soldier- requires high numerical block modifiers... (was also asking for ones other than this per original post)
Will for the Fight- +2 to a non weapon...
Zhao Family Discipline- requires face up momentum...

...just a word of advice, if you're going to put forth an attitude when people attempt to assist you, you're not going to receive help often, I assure you.

Life sucks. Life also doesn't have the most damage pumps, or even very good ones. If you want some damage pump attacks, look into Rising Hilt and Striking Thunder; both are extremely aggressive.

As far as foundations go, you're being way too picky. Life DOES have some relatively decent damage pump foundations, but if none of the ones I listed do it for ya, then perhaps another symbol is for you.

Seriously though, try not to reject help when you asked for it, even if I gave you more than what was asked for.

I'd say something about the advice thing, but yeah, I won't.

If what you want is damage pump and you don't want to run actions (i.e. draw/large handsize) then Life really isn't the symbol for you. This is no longer the day of deceptive look (i.e. pump one, pump all), nor is it the day where they give the worst characters the best abilities (sorry Nako - I'm talking about you).

If you are deadset on life I would reccomend you ignore damage pump. You need to focus on what the symbol is good at and build around it first and foremost - that is control hack and counter control. Run the forethought, run the anti k, and runs answers to it's answers - the damage will find it's way to your deck in the long run.
