How often can you use Medicae as a first aid option on one and the same character per day?
And where does it say so?
Thnx

I asked this question a while ago and noone really gave any solid answer. It does say in IH that it should be used once per combat encounter (p233) but I think this will be up to your GM as that could be every couple of hours depending on a mission. I think its a judgement call that balances aid to the group and silly over-use.
Hmm. If you allow it's use too often, it kind of moves up to the long term care rules.
Core Rule Book (p.104 last paragraph under section First Aid ) :
"First Aid may only be applied to each Wound once and is a Full Action by you and your patient."
ie. for each time you are hit and suffer a wound you can receive First Aid once (no matter how much damage it caused).
But this was given a "slight" tweek with the Inquisitor's Handbook (p.233, bottom right, section Limits on First Aid ):
"If you're not using the optional rules described here, a character can only benefit from First Aid just once per combat encounter, even when attended by multiple healers. If you're using the optional rules, a character can receive First Aid for each type of Damage taken. So a character who has taken only Explosive Damage can only be healed once, while a character who has taken Energy and Explosive Damage could receive two uses of First Aid, one for each set of injuries."
We do not use the rules described in IH, because that would totally cripple the game flow, considering how often we get injured, and how little time between each injury. If you run a highly combat focused game, I would only recommend the IH rules for a group with a biomancer in it, otherwise you can expect each session might end in the players checking themselves into a hospital for a few weeks.

I rules, probably correctly, that each wound means each time a person is damaged.
So if a pc is stabbed for 4 wounds it means those 4 wounds damage is the wound that can be treated, not each singular sufferd wound individually.

Yes, that's what I meant by:
"ie. for each time you are hit and suffer a wound you can receive First Aid once (no matter how much damage it caused)."
there is a reason I wrote "wound" not "Wound", and just in case it could be misinterpreted, I wrote that inside the parenthesis. But if it wasn't clear, I suppose it still might be my bad. =)
Hmm but this interpretation means that you need to keep track of how many Wounds a character suffered, and how many wounds (no capital W)
Btw in the book it says 'each Wound once' so that would suggest you can make a Medicae first aid roll for every single Wound suffered, with the possible result in the case of lightly wounded characters that one success is enough to remove all the damage (if the treater's Int bonus is high enough).
