What's the deal with the discard conditons of the bank loan? While playing today, someone couldnt pay the $1 upkeep and had to discard all their items, but what does the game mean by items in this case? Common, Unique, spells, skills..... It's my thought that when the game doesnt say something specific like "discard all common items", that it means ALL items are discarded, but are spells, skills, and allys considered items? Where do you draw the line?
questions about Bank Loans...
P. 16:
"Important: When adding up items before discarding
them, count all Common Items, Unique Items, and
Spells. In addition, the Deputy’s Revolver and the Patrol
Wagon both count as items. Allies, Skills, and other
cards do not count towards this total."
(under the Investigator Status main heading)
If you have CotDP, then Exhibit Items count as well.

Gah, no wonder i couldnt find it, i kept trying to find info specific to bank loans! Thanks for the tip!
You have to apply (fuzzy) logic as to where you'll find the relevant info
. Under the base game rules, the most common occurance of losing items is unconsciousness/insanity (when you lose half). Bank Loans just happen to have items as their "fail" clause.
I have my spidey-sense throbbing that I might have once taken a BL with Jenny Barnes (out of 72 games), not sure though.
The Patrol Wagon and the Deputy Revolver are items too. But if Deputy Revolver is your only remaining posession you don't have to lose it (as per its special text).

Was there some point I missed here? I keep looking at my first reply and seeing both of those items mentioned
. If the point was Deputy's Revolver special text, Derringer(s) would like a word with you
.
Ugh. Yup.... it totally says that up top.
