Yet another " look at my list thread " sorry.

I have used Phantoms a lot because after its first use I fell in love.

I haven't actually used Whisper though. Echo has been great but a strange thing happened in my last game. I took a crit because I made a mistake, I guessed wrong and found myself face to face with the Baron. Fel being Fel open fire an pop goes the shield and o crap he rolled a crit. It came up the one that stops pilot ability and the etp. Now this had a strange side affect, I no longer had to work round the curved 2 decloak and this made me think maybe its worth trying her counterpart. Echo then popped Fel. Revenge is good.

So I took my echo build and shaved off the points needed and got this:

So will it do well or do I need to play whisper differently?

I'd go VI over pred, even with it you may end up taking fire uncloaked but it's best to limit the incoming fire as much as possible.

Otherwise looks solid.

Asteroids are Echo's best friends. Whisper hates asteroids from my experience. Going into an asteroid field tends to limit which ways you can decloak making you very predictable. The bright side of Whisper is that the forward barrel roll becomes much more of an option for speedy quick moves across the board.

+ 1 Agree.... Echo can dance between the rocks and I tend to lore folks into them with her. Where as Whisper can pull the 4 straight + cloak + decloak + 4 Straight in two moves and be behind your enemy fairly early.

The list doing well is all going to depend on you (no pressure!). As to your other question, absolutely! Echo and Whisper fly very differently, even for flying the same ship. the template difference may well throw you the first game or two, but if you've been playing Phantoms for a while, I suspect you'll adjust pretty quickly.
