The rule states that you score an extra hit per degree of success. In the example two pages later a mutant shoots full auto at a cleric and scores three threshold successes, however it states the mutant only scores on extra hit. A wee confused (like that's new! )!

Yes, the FFG copies include the Eratta 1.0 if I recall; possibly 2.0 in some cases. The examples sometimes slip under the radar.
