Extra Health in Island of Dread

By Trevbo, in Runebound

I was playing the Island of Dread with my group, and one of them used his experiance to get extra life. In regular Runebound a player can only et three, becuase any more would not let them challange reds.

How many can you get in island of dread. The first two make it so you can't play greens or yellows. What would the third do? Stop you doing blue challanges? The blue challanges are fairly essential to gameplay, so we said he could not get the third life but he was fairly upset about it. Any suggestions on how to do this? Should the third stop you fighting reds, and you can still do blues and the silver on the island, or should I just allow two extra hearts?

Thanks

Having the third extra heart stop you from doing reds makes sense IMHO.

Well I certainly don't think that the third extra heart should prevent you from doing blues. The fact that they have a different card back (and a different mechanic) than the other colours, I think, is a fairly strong indication that they should not be considered the same as the other challenges for the purposes of this rule. Having the third heart prevent you from doing reds makes sense. Alternatively it could just not prevent anything since there basically is no standard blue challenge deck in this expansion (ie: treat it like a "hole" in the challenge progression.)
