Bound by Duty (x3)
Retos: Elige un Personaje Stark arrodillado. Challenges: Choose a person kneeling Stark. Hasta el final de la fase, ese Personaje, mientras sigue arrodillado, puede elegirse como defensor para cualquier Reto en que pudiera participar normalmente. Until the end of the stage, that character, while still kneeling, may be chosen as an advocate for any challenge that would normally participate.
I'm thinking this will combo well with my War Host of the North...
This looks like a potential gamebreaker. I'm going to hate this card I already know it... except when I'm running it. x3.
i was thinking more along the lines of catelyn + summer
whatever it's best used with, though, it's my favorite card in the chapter pack
I should also note my calling it a gamebreaker wasn't intended to say the card is broken, just that at the right time can completely change the challenge being executed and potentially swinging the game in your favor... especially against a Lannister kneel deck.

What about Core Set Robb Stark?

That'd be ok I guess. A lot more of a one-trick pony on defense that a Catelyn using that card would be though.
Well, if I'm understanding "advocate" in your translation properly (i.e., as "defender"), Distinct Mastery more or less fills the same slot in all the combos mentioned. Granted, this is more efficient in that you can defend once for each icon instead of just one time, but hopefully you see my point - it's interesting and new, but I don't see it a revolutionary just from the spoiler.

I think that's the appeal--that you will likely get multiple challenges to defend on. Also, it looks like it works for non-crested characters as well, so that's one less limitation. This will be especially strong in multiplayer, where a Stark player will be able to attack first and defend the rest of the challenges.

I was using Distinct Mastery as a generic stand card available to Stark. It worked in all the situations mentioned because all the characters mentioned are crested.
Don't get me wrong - I totally get the appeal and think the efficiency of it is just incredible. It is certainly more versatile than stand effects if your goal is to defend with a character after attacking with it. And in multiplayer, it is particularly great. I'm just saying I don't think it is particularly revolutionary. But creative and efficient? Undoubtedly. Fun? Almost certainly. Suddenly, stealthing past kneeling characters makes more sense.
BTW: This is another one of those interesting "choose a Stark character" effects that isn't actually "House Stark only." For the people still playing Standard with dual House stuff, it could get really interesting.

I think the Nuts and Boltons just started percolating again.... and I was just thinking about bring them back as a Lanni deck.

I second this! Like, really hard.
( We still have about one month to wait for the pack
)
PS. Just had to notice that the smileys here are quite dissapointing.
I have ordered it on the web so I should have it next week. I'll do a spoiler but it will be a bit long as I have a computer only at work.
Why do you have to wait a month for "City of secrets" ?

A month? Our store is going to have these in tomorrow. I'd post a spoiler for folks, but I might be busy tomorrow night (it's my night off from the store) and can't guarantee I'll get around to it.
The sad part is that most stores won't get them until next week, due to shipping schedules and ordering dates.
Ok nice, it's just that Moneylender said that he will have to wait a month ![]()
There's an agenda allowing you to play "House X only" shadow cards that are not affiliated to your House for 1 more gold (so Arya should be in a lot of winter decks
).
There is a Greyjoy character that you give to an opponent and he makes him discard a card every time he wins a challenge. Of course he is "No attachments" and "cannot be killed"!
There's a Lannister location that gives +1 STR to all your characters for every card in your shadow zone.
That's all I know for now, the 2 other Agendas allow your opponent to win with only 10 power, but they are very powerful (I don't know what they do!).
This is from what I read on a french forum so there may be some mistakes.
i'd like to note that the status of city of secrets in the FFG store changed to "in stock" today
Yep, and we've got one final preview with an article from Will up now as well. I had a couple thoughts on the card so far...
Out of the LCG realm question here.... Would you or would you not be able to cancel this with Paper Shield? It has a "s0" gold cost, and originally required 2G to put it into shadows, so is that going to count? I'd say you can't cancel it with Paper Shield.
And I like this card a lot for Martell in LCG, actually. But I'm still really just not having nearly as much fun with my Martells yet for the lack of named favorite characters. You know, the reason I like this game... the books. :-)
Why not push a card like this back to the 2nd or 3rd release of the expansion, and give us a Red Viper or Ellaria in this CP? I'd appreciate that much more with the expected Kings of the Sun box likely still many months away.
You know, strangely, I agree there. I was hoping for a wow unique to spoil this pack, but sadly, Jonathan (longclaw) beat me to Tyrion. While, I do agree that pushing more uniques at the start of the cycle would be good for the Nedly types (and who among us isn't at least a little bit?), I can also see where the current approach (pushing Shadows effects hard) is probably a better way to approach the environment and gameplay. How great would it have been to get only a couple cards that have or key off of Shadows in a pack that's supposed to debut the mechanic? This way, we'll have more options for each house to jump into the game. Granted, that doesn't address the possibility of uniques with Shadows.....
I think this card may do more to empower Martell decks than a single unique character unless it had a truly amazing ability.

Oh, I'm not saying it won't. It's going right into my decks, and Will did a great job on the write up too. I'm just saying from a more Nedly perspective, I'd be more excited about my LCG Martell decks if I could play the characters I really want to play sooner rather than later too! :-)
It will be interesting to see with this card, whatever neutral cancel we suspect will be available in KLE and the Martell expansion (Kings of the Sun? I mean really Kings?) will do to the much talked about MWnK deck. With no Rein events being able to be used reliably I wonder how the decdk will fair in six months (totally arbitrary date I'm assuming it will be available by).
