Hi,
If an Assassin attack the warrior does the warrior get to roll a die instead of 2 dice? Or does the warrior not get to roll any dice whatsoever to add to his strength?

For me Warrior cannot roll the dice.

Depends on what you do.
If the Assassin attacks as normal, then the Warrior may roll 2 dices and choose the highest rol.
If the Assassin can assassinate the Warrior, then the Warrior may not roll the die
The answer is in the "Can vs. Cannot" paragraph (Rulebook page 15) :
In any instance where a card’s effect indicates that a character
cannot perform an action or use an ability (such as casting a
Spell or using an Object), the character cannot do so. In other
words, the forbidding effects of cards override other abilities
and effects.
If the Assassin Ability says that the opponent (in this case the Warrior) cannot roll the die for his combat score, the Warrior cannot use his Special Ability as well, because the effect is overridden by the Assassin's Special Ability.

That makes it very clear for everyone
Good job Warlock
I am too lazy to do that now
