star wars theme music

By Ayleron, in X-Wing

So my friends who I game with at the shop down the street always put on an awesome star wars music mix when we play, mp3s of course. but I personally don't have any star wars music to rock out to, whether gaming or otherwise. What tunes do you all have and where is the best/cheapest place to get them?

If you wanted to be really, really cheap you might search for a YouTube mp3 downloader site on Google but the Star Wars stuff on iTunes goes on sale from time to time. I got everything John Williams wrote (every movie) for $35. Even made the Battle of Endor my ringtone.

theres a app for android that i use when playing.. only has short music clips though it also has all the starfighter sounds from the movies as well. Also has some nifty pilot qoutes.. like: "cut the chatter red two" for example

My backpack's got jets

I'm Boba, the Fett

I bounty hunt for Jabba Hutt

To finance my 'Vette

But yeah, in seriousness, iTunes.

Ok thanks, what tracks ate people's favorite from the six movies and many video games?

First off hello forums, long time lurker and reader, first time poster. For Star Wars music I have a ton. Its my Star Wars Weekends album. When waiting outside of Hollywood Studios for hours at a chance to get Jeremy Bulloch's, Peter mayhew, Ray Park, or even John Ratzenberger's autograph I have collected a list of Star Wars music. My favorites are the Endor battle themes, The Throne Room/End Title, The Imperial March, and of course Fette's Vette.

This one has it all. I'm sure you'll find it on Play and iTunes as well.

Yeah, that's what I bought.

I just use pandora.

They have stuff there.

If looking for music to play the game to, a lot of the Star Wars soundtracks are a bit so-so. Too many 'shorter' pieces, that don't really align well with the game flow.

The RotJ OST, though, has a couple good choices on the second disk:

- Battle of Endor I [Medley] ...nearly 12 minutes

- Battle of Endor II [Medley] ...10 minutes

- Battle of Endor ||| [Medley] ...6 minutes

Gives you about a half-hour stretch of the same sort of feel of the music.

And when he's done he can play the Victory Celebration from ROTJ! Its a win-win in my book! ;)

...where is the best/cheapest place to get them?

Your local library almost undoubtedly has a music section, and there's a good chance they have soundtracks from at least a couple of the films there.

I actually managed to find all three of the SE soundtracks at Hastings in the US for about $60 altogether. Of course, I bought them several years ago, and it was for my own personal enjoyment, but I've been able to put together a nice soundtrack for the game using them. I need to go through them though and remove some of the quieter elements so the actiony music doesn't end.

A lot of us have gotten rid of physical music collections because of the expense and wear & tear to the discs. I'm routinely stunned at how damaged they get and how quickly it happens. People must use them as Frisbees, I swear...

And if you can find them some of the video game OSTs have some seriously good music on them
