Well, I found out that this was happening at the beginning of the month. So I had about 2 weeks to prepare for this event. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to make it, due to work. But I didn't really make anything until there was about 7 days left until the event. I was trying to think of ideas, but for some reason nothing was coming to mind. I tried making a death/evil deck but it wasn't running the way I wanted it to. Sitting around and not doing anything I decided to throw together a water deck. I was pretty hyped about play testing it but I didn't even get the chance to play test the darn deck until Friday. Which then I figured it just wasn't going to work. So I figured I'll go with Chunli because it was something I've had made before and have made recently for one of my players in my play group. He was supposed to be there too but things just didn't work out. Since he couldn't make it, I got the chance to take the deck for a test drive. I made the deck before but never played with it much, so I didn't really know how well it was going to work out. The way I had the deck, I think it's really weird. I guess you can say not much thought was put into it or no reasons went behind anything. I don't know, it's just kind of crazy.
So when I was driving there, I figured I'd call and see what time it was supposed to start just to make sure. They picked up and tell me it starts at noon. I'm like ok and I figured I would make it there on time. It kind of got me confused too because I thought it was supposed to start at one, so I figured I'll call back in a bit and ask again. So I called again later and asked for Jeff, but they said he wasn't in. So I asked who ever was on the other line what time the event was supposed to happen. They also said noon, but I asked them if that was a certain time or was sign ups supposed to take place during noon. They told me noon. So I looked at the time and it was pretty close already it was 11:30 am. I was hoping I had enough time to get there and fill out my gay deck list. So I'm all rushing and when I get there I'm the only one that is there. I see no UFS players any where at all. I'm thinking to myself, WTF? So I go and ask the owner, where is Jeff. He tells me Jeff should be in a few minutes. So, they were telling me noon all this time for nothing and I was rushing for nothing in the end. But it was all good, because I got the time to sit and relax a little. Not too much relaxing because Pokemon players were all around. Plus stupid kids talking and yelling started giving me headaches.
Sat around for a while and then the other UFS players started showing up. Saying hi to the other ufs players and talking and hanging out and filling deck lists out before the tournament started. So here are some of how my matches and rounds went....

2nd Rd vs ZiMei (Evil)

This was a pretty interesting battle for me. I was wondering how the deck was going to due against an Evil deck and this was my time to find out. I was playing against Lee and his well built deck. I chanced a few things and it caused me the first round. After that I played more cautious since he was up a round on me already. But it was great to have played him. Good game Lee! Playing against this deck really gave me heads up for what I was in for, for later matches.
3rd Rd vs JohnHerr (Evil)

I had to play Trips, my scout. I figured we just have a draw because he was affected with diversity because Garrison was playing John Herr that day also. So I figured we draw and whatever happens, happens after that. Plus doing so gave us more time to go get food and do what we needed to do. At the end of the round Garrison also had a draw against his opponent Jeremy (JDub). Which made things even more intense.
4th Rd vs Alex (All)
1-0
At this point we all knew we were going to make top 8 already. But it was to determine who was going to be swiss champ. We played a game and during the time we were talking it over. We also talked about other stuff and what was going to happen. So, in the end we just decided he'll take the win.
After 4 Rds of swiss, Garrison ended up being the Swiss Champ. So on to Top 8

Ok, so here we are again. So I asked Jeremy what he wanted to do and if he wanted to split prizes. We agreed and played it out. We figure we'll just finish what we started to cut time short because his other match took a very long time.
So yeah, there it is. That's how my rounds and matches went. Now onto the shout outs...
DoubleD and Lee - Double D it was nice to have met you again and Lee it was nice to meet you. You guys were awesome and I had a wonderful time hanging out with you two. Thanks a lot for everything!
EChang - The future Chang! Hope you really get going with this. I know you just recently started and I hope you stick and move on and keep playing. Hope to play you next time.

TripsEx - IDK what to say man, I see your ass all the time. But it was good to hang out with you there too. Thanks for driving us home, I was so freaking tired. Also sorry about my stupid talk on the way back home. I know I was trying to talk to you and when I was falling asleep I lost what I was trying to say and started saying stuff that didn't even make sense.
boot2dahead - Jeff, you made it happen again man! Awesome tournament. Even though the turn out wasn't huge or whatever it was still a blast. Thanks for sticking around and taking all of our UFS bull crapness.
For all the others, it was nice to see old faces and new faces. I had a great time and I hope everyone did also.
Coming to this event and having a great time just hanging out with you all just makes me remember why I love this game. I forget sometimes why I play this game. It's all the people that I get to meet and have a good time with. Having fun with new faces and old faces makes it great. At times it feels like it's not even a tournament any more, but just another excuse for all of us UFS players to come and gather around for a great time. Thanks for all the laughs!
