Using the uprising mechanics on dunwich track.

By woundwart, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

The uprising mechanics on the innsmouth board have a mechanic were everytime a gate is blocked from opening a uprising token is added to the uprising track I am trying to think of a similar mechanic that I can use for the dunwich board. More specifically I want some event, that is not dependent on pulling a dunwich gate, that could happen during the game that would trigger adding a token to the dunwich track. Any thoughts?

Yo, I reckon the Online Dunwich Horror Herald ("ODHH"? Dunno the abbreviations up in here yet) already has that... You could always just use Unnatural Growth from it (Horror tokens are placed as the Terror Level rises, etc, etc)

Adapting the Dunwich Horror Herald would work; just add a Dunwich token when the terror level hits 3, 6 and 9.

Another idea I have is to pretend that Innsmouth vortices are exactly like Dunwich ones. Add a Dunwich token when a monster vanishes into an Innsmouth vortex. That could be excessive, though, if the Innsmouth board has more monsters on it than we realize.

Here's an evil thought -- add a Dunwich token any time an investigator is knocked unconscious or driven insane while in Dunwich.

Lots of options:

1) Each time the outskirts limit is reached

2) Each time a gate burst occurs

3) Each time an investigator is devoured or LiTaS

4) Each time a gate opens on an investigator

5) Each monstor surge

6) Each time a gate is drawn for a sealed location

7) Each time an investigator FAILS when trying to close a gate :-)

8) Each time a Mythos card is drawn without a gate (e.g. double doom, Next act, etc.)

9) Each time monster movement includes a black crescent.

10) Each time an investigator gains a Curse (or Blessing!)

Pick one or more! If you want more, I can probably come up with another 10 at fairly short notice :-)
