Secondary Abilities

By Furusu, in Anima: Beyond Fantasy RPG

Hi there everyone.

I'm confused. Is 200 (aka mastery) the limit you can get your secondary abilities to? I can't seem to see it written in the core rulebook anywhere. I will be grateful for some answer.

Without "Inumanity" you can't reach a value higher of 280.

But you can have more of 200 in a secondary ability. Simply, if value+dice= 281 or more, without Inumanity you must consider it 280.

Thank You. :)

Thanks for clearing that up. I had my suspicions that you could go past 200 in your secondaries (due to a combat example. Can't get above 215 in attack with your stat bonus and combat maxed at 200, and they gave an example of 240 i believe.), but this cleared it up.

Now to wait for my DM kit...

There is no upper limit for what abilities can rise to, other than the the relative limits discussed regarding combat abilities and the like near the start of the book. For example, the city devouring monster in the back of the book has an attack ability of 300, and a secondary attack (with 6 tentacles) of 260, and its stats aren't high enough to account for the difference.

So you can raise your abilities as high as you like. You can raise them to 300 at any point. But until you have Inhumanity, any rolls you make will be reduced to 280, even if you made an Inhuman or Zen difficulty.

The benefit of Inhumanity and Zen is that you can "make" those levels of success. You don't need to have them in order to raise your abilities high enough that you can guarantee success.
