Green Bay regional results.

By TummyEden, in UFS General Discussion

From what I remember hearing-

Top 4 was

Jack Chang- Chun Li

Jdub- Alex

Dani (Shadowdragon)- Astrid

Garrison- Jon Herr

Jack vs Garrison- Jack (Chun Li) wins

Jdub vs Dani- Jdub (Alex) wins

Finals Jack vs Jdub- Jack (Chun Li) wins.

So, it looks like Chun li wins another regional. I'll post more if I find anything else out.

Any word on attendance numbers? Or diversity?

At any rate, congrats to JChang for taking it all.

For a moment, I thought a Jacky Tang deck made top cuts

I was like whaaaaaaaaa

Then I took a sec and read it again, and realized it was not only the wrong name, but it would've been piloted by Chun-Li, and my dream fell apart lol

I'm pleased to see an Astrid deck that high up! Do we have enough proof yet, to declare that at least one of the ShadoWar characters is tournament-calibur?

13 people total, 2 starter Sagats and 2 Jon Herrs, there was a set 9 Juni (I think that was the blonde one anyways, I always mix them up), promo Zi Mei, set 12 Astaroth, and I can't remember much else >_> But I'd like to think that my Astrid is tourny-calibur, it barely missed t8 at PotM.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jacky Tang made top cuts. White Magic + him = spank

Dani is a good Astrid player. She'll do well with her in the future.

Interesting top 4 and chunners racks up another one I wonder if we will see as many Chun li's at nats as Yun Seongs for Worlds 07.

Any ability that grants Weapon attacks the reversal keyword is almost as gold as Sakura granting any attack a reversal keyword and then two reversals at once too. And with Shadowdragon playing that, then I'm wanting to see some hardcore stuff.

Astrid does NOT give her weapons the Reversal keyword ability. She just lets you play them as reversals. Big difference there with Bitter Rivals being so popular now...

that's what I meant, ... allowing weapons to be used as reversals.

:)

Unless that weapon is called Pommel Smash or something...

This was a sweet event! Thanks go out to everyone who showed up, and a HUGE GIANT HUG goes to our local scout Jeff for being awesome and not only dealing with super cranky super tired UFS players, but staying up with me and building Donovan at 5am the night before singles. I am so glad I got back into UFS just for the Wisconsin community, best group of guys, and gals I have ever played with.

Glad to see your loving the game again Derrick too bad you cant make nats maybe worlds....

Also thanks for the all trades ! gran_risa.gif

Teams went as follows

1st Place: Team Slap Chop (JDub DoubleD TripsEX)

2nd Place: Team Thrillhouse (LeeRD JChang Aaron Wellhouse)

3rd Place: Team No Name (Garrison Bunnell Steve Bird Josh Janz)

FSCK YEAH TEAM SLAP CHOP

BAN BITTER RIVALS ALREADY.

@Team Slap Chop: Before you played anyone, did you make sure to tell them that they were gonna love your nuts?

I think, I have to name my team Sham WoW! now.

*yawn* Am I the only one who feels like this game is seriously sucking ass at this particular juncture in time?

From the research I've done, this is now the 9th time Chun-Li has topped an event, and the 3rd time she has won one.

So uh...shut up?

Shinji it is still far more diverisifed then last year when you could always predict 6 of the top 8. Now you maybe can predict 3 or 4 and even then somtimes you get a surprise.

My deck hasn't lost to a Chunner's yet! Everyone at the Northwest Regional is lucky that I'm the organizer of Singles! I plan on taking chunners each time in Teams when I see her accross the table!

But being stated here and now, Chun-Li is old compared to Astrid, and having a character such as Astrid being up to top 4 this many times is far more comparible to Chun-Li reaching top obviously instantly based on her abilities, becuase it doesn't take much to play her abilities to the advantage turn 1, but Astrid requires skill and tech which is the difference even more.

Donovan

Sagat

Chun Li

Zi Mei

Jon Herr

Alex

Astrid

Juni

SO...STFU and get out of my regional's thread.

If you hate the game that much, take a break, just step away. I did, and then I came back and have a nice fresh look on the game. Just PLEASE don't bring your $#!& talk in this thread. Have some respect for the players who played in the regional, all of these people are friends of mine.
