Lotus never left...just lurked. ;)

Lotus lurks now thats cjust scarry ---i always felt he was on a mountain drinking a large guiness contonplating the future. gran_risa.gif

I see one small problem with the Snoopy mini -- on the mini, the doghouse entrance is facing the rear; when Snoopy is doing his "WW1 Flying Ace" routine, he sits so the entrance is facing the front. Other than that: Nicely done. :)

Thanks much!

Actually, I oriented him that way on purpose. From what I remember, C. Schultz oriented him to the right while flying, the door to the left (which sometimes Snoopy would enter or exit), type to the left, dog dish was to the left...all implying door-opposite-Sopwith prop orientation. Smoke came out the end w/ the door.

But I can't say C. Schults ever made this perfectly clear. There are a number of representations by other people on the internet showing the door to the front, but none of them by C. Schultz. I stick to old Peanuts paperbacks as my primary sources. :D

Nicely done! That would be a fun model to trot out on game nights.

Sort of off topic, I was watching Flyboys this afternoon. Remember the pilot who lost his hand, Beagle? My son asked me if his first name was Snoopy. After I stared at him for a moment, he explained that Snoopy was a beagle.

What maneuver deck does Snoopy use! gran_risa.gif

That is awesome Lotus, it should look great on the new game mats coming soon! I can see the ole' snoopster creeping back through the French countryside to friendly lines now!

From the above pics, it looks like the ole' Snoopster is getting ready to lay a little "A" deck damage to the Baron there!

Cheers! aplauso.gif

Just did a quick recheck of my _Peanuts_ collections, and it does depend which way he's flying -- outbound, the entry faces backward; inbound, forward. So perhaps it depends on whether he's Attacking or Defending. :)

Kau-FEEEEEE!!!!

Hey, I caught this on Youtube...can't seem to buy this movie in the states but it looks waaaay cool, even if it's a bit slanted in the historical sense.

That Red Baron looks pretty cool. I've heard it has some Fly Boys similarities to it, but the aerial sequences would be the main draw! Great YouTube preview. I hope they slow down the flight sequences though in the movie. The YouTube had them whizzing about like mach 1 jet fighters! sorpresa.gif Hell, those **** things went barely just fast enough to keep in the air! Fly Boys got like that too. I guess they're trying to really "wow" the audience with their CGI. Too bad they don't tone down some of the aerial sequences, if you constantly show scenes with planes whizzing right by within inches in front of the pilots, it gets old after a while (pauses to go get a brew). (Back now) A little goes a long way, and I think they over do it too much at times. But that could just be the preview. I just recently read a book on Manfred Von Richthofen, and most of his combats were not giant airplane-crash up derbies in the sky. Some were though. I'd love to see this movie. Sooner or later, someone is going to make a movie about WWI aerial combat, and tell it like it really was, combined with great CGI, and then you're going to have a movie that'll knock your socks off! You know, a flick done in the style of Band of Brothers. Not just about one guy like Von Richthofen either, but about all of those great flyers like Bishop, Hall (Albert & Bert- An American ), McCudden, Udet, Immelmann, Boelcke, Nungesser, Guynemer, Lufbery, Voss, Rhys-Davids, Mannock, Dorme, Fonck, Roy Brown (of course), Barker, Frank Luke & Eddie Rickenbacker and on and on...

It's hard to tell by just that little preview though, could be this is that flick! gran_risa.gif It'd be worth checking out, that's for sure! Even Fly Boys was worth it for the aerial scenes!

I like that they have the aircraft right, that is really cool. I can't wait for set IV, it is supposed to have my favorite WWI fighter plane, the SE5a. I think we're supposed to get a couple barrage balloons with another Nieuport. The game mat is supposed to be"on the boat", which means hopefully we'll be seeing it available in the next month.

I didn't know you played WoW. I've always been into the airplanes and such, so it's a great game for me. I'm really drooling over the second boxed set for the WWII side of this game that is supposed to be out here sometime fairly soon. It says they expect it by June, so I'm hoping that it'll be out by the opening of college football season, late August / early September. gran_risa.gif I've got a boatload of 1/144 scale planes ready to go for that whole deal already, and I've got a couple months worth of kits still waiting for their turn on the modeling table.

Tim was laid off late last year, and took a job in Cincinnati and moved half way there to Dayton (1.5 hour drive from C-Bus). I still talk to him about going on a road trip out your way, but niether of us play AAM any longer, maybe a Wings of War or AA50 road trip? I think Curt would be harder to get to go along, just because of his outrageous work schedule (working 2 jobs now- and I though my schedule was crazy). With gas prices down for the time being, and if they hold through this spring & summer, this would be the time! I know the guys would be "in" if AA50 is on the game itinerary! Now there's a good beer drinking / socializing game if there ever was one! gran_risa.gif

Too bad you can't PM on these boards! I'll have to hop back over to the Avalon Hill boards, I'm not sure if I ever got my PMs working over there or not. The only thing about those boards are that every time I take a peek around there, I get all Curmudgeonly all of a sudden! gran_risa.gif demonio.gif enfadado.gif lengua.gif gran_risa.gif

And I don't know why!?! partido_risa.gif It just happens every time!! gran_risa.gif
