Hell, those **** things went barely just fast enough to keep in the air! Fly Boys got like that too. I guess they're trying to really "wow" the audience with their CGI. Too bad they don't tone down some of the aerial sequences, if you constantly show scenes with planes whizzing right by within inches in front of the pilots, it gets old after a while (pauses to go get a brew). (Back now) A little goes a long way, and I think they over do it too much at times. But that could just be the preview. I just recently read a book on Manfred Von Richthofen, and most of his combats were not giant airplane-crash up derbies in the sky. Some were though. I'd love to see this movie. Sooner or later, someone is going to make a movie about WWI aerial combat, and tell it like it really was, combined with great CGI, and
then
you're going to have a movie that'll knock your socks off! You know, a flick done in the style of Band of Brothers. Not just about one guy like Von Richthofen either, but about all of those great flyers like
Bishop, Hall (Albert & Bert-
An American
), McCudden, Udet, Immelmann, Boelcke, Nungesser, Guynemer, Lufbery, Voss, Rhys-Davids, Mannock, Dorme, Fonck, Roy Brown (of course), Barker, Frank Luke & Eddie Rickenbacker
and on and on...
It just happens every time!!
