...but the wiki forum is buzzing!
Not much action in this forum...
Enough about the goddam wiki already.
If it's doing just fine then you don't need to troll over here.

Perhaps we want to help out the players who don't know the wiki exists?
Funny thing is that every time I come over here, almost all the questions I see have been answered or are in the process of a long discussion on the wiki. It doesn't hurt to check it out...
And the most hilarious thing is... you have a wiki account! Go figure...
Also, they will get a lot better quality in their answers in general over in the other forum unless magicoctopus or sigmazero happen to be take a look over here that week.

I have nothing against you and don't really understand your hostility. You don't really lose anything if some TI fans find the wiki interesting.
This FFG forum exists to promote a great board game. I'm just worried that if a newbie comes here and sees that the last post was several days ago, they might think that the forum (or worse, the game!) is dying and not come here again. It just so happens that the wiki forum is much more lively, and as long as this is the case I consider it a service to the global Twilight Imperium community to help people find it.
It gets old when peeps are *constantly* plugging the wiki.
Give it a rest please.

Constantly implies that every post (or nearly every post) has reference to it. Looking at the threads on page 1, it's only occasionally referenced.
I agree with the points above - not all new players know about the Wiki, and coming here to see it "dead" may make them think nobody cares about the game anymore, when that's simply not true - it's just that the majority of the players have migrated to a forum where the software is actually usable. I love FFG's games, but in the 6 months since they released this forum software, it's still the crappiest forum software I've ever seen - so many restrictions, not enough usability.
I only pop in every few days because of my love for the game, but I, like apparently most avid TI3 players, spend most of my posting time at the Wiki, where things aren't nearly so dead.
Alterego, I don't understand why you give us crap for plugging the Wiki, when it's a thousand times better than this discussion board. Most of the best answers to questions come from regular Wiki users who only occasionally pop over here to help out newbies.
How many posts and individual threads can be found in the wiki? In comparison, how many posts a day does this board get?
How many ACTIVE PBEMs are there are this board? How many ACTIVE games can be found on the wiki?
The Wiki is
clearly
superior. Why are you so annoyed that we are trying to share that with people?
You state that "if the wiki were doing so fine, you wouldn't need to troll over here." That's a complete load of crap and you know it. Most people who go in search of TI3 information are going to come here, the official channel. If they don't see directions pointing to the wiki, then they may never learn where to find the most active community. And if there isn't a thread in the first page or so of the FFG boards, a newcomer is likely to look at the post/page counts and most recent entries and decide that nobody's around other than some newbies asking rules questions.
If you actually liked this game, you would want its fan community to thrive and should support our wiki plugs. Hell, you might actually come over to the wiki and contribute something yourself once in a while. I've never seen such regressive, self-defeating behavior (except maybe in the GOP)
(I kid, I kid!)
